Did the enchantment at Occultist change after the Patch 1.1.1?

Did someone notice it and let me know?
It is now more difficult to get an item enchanted at the Occultist. I tried to get another affix/aspect for a ring or amulet (imbuement skill) but it seems impossible now.
The cost was lower than before, but still, I ran out of gold quickly.

I heard of that, but it wasn’t in the patch notes, i don’t know if it really changed

Wouldn’t be the first time they did a unannounced change.

They removed priority affixes on enchanting because players complained they kept getting the same ones over and over instead of niche things like +life or +thorns.

Your chances of getting crap just got equaled out. Isn’t equality great?!? /s

Really? I need to google it if they change it.

It seems like they just changed the priorities instead of outright removing them. E.g., crit chance is the unlikeliest to roll now.

They removed priority rolls so you can’t get the good affixes and max them out like before anymore, it’s all completely random now. Dumb I know….which is why I’m playing bg3 then armored core right after and I still haven’t played the new remnant. Done with this game for the foreseeable future, thats for sure.

Ah, so they did change that but they did not mention it in the Patch note?
Actually, the cost of enchantment is reduced, but it turns out more expensive!
I do not like the philosophy behind that!

Wouldn’t be so bad if they greatly reduced the enchantment cost.

D3 had a balance enchantment cost gold sink system. A few greater rifts and I’ll be able to roll my gear extensively.

I think I heard in Wudijo’s video that removing priority affixes was a bug because they tried to fix duplicate affix rolls (like when rerolling a 1.8 crit rate you still get 1.8 crit rate). Still sucks though. I haven’t rolled crit rate on the 20 gloves I’ve gotten and now I’m out of veiled crystals.

Same, I got 2 amulets and I want to add Imbuement skills to them. I was not able to do it and the enchantment cost became so high that I salvaged both!

I guess we should do the reverse for now. If you want crit rate, then hope you find a glove that has a good roll and then enchant out the unwanted stat for a common one.

I gave up on enchanting items for now.
As you wrote, better wait and look for a very good item, then roll what is more common.

i just went over the patch notes one thing stood out.

Fixed an issue where continuously enchanting an item could result in having the same stat show repeatedly in subsequent re-rolls.

so i guess the more you roll the stat you want the less you will see it.

Blizzard has always done that. Clear back in WC3. Pre Frozen Throne. They buff something that sucks, then do something to make the buff absolutely not matter at all. They have a term for is and I don’t remember what they call it.

But if you complain about something, they’ll “Fix” it, then nerf something else to make it not matter.

IE: Reduce cost of enchanting, but change the weights so the chances of getting a useful enchant are so slim you end up paying the same cost anyway.

Moral of the story, Blizzard has only gotten worse since their early days of Star Craft and Pre LOD D2. (back when they play tested their own games religiously)

Thanks for the info.
I did not pay attention to those lines so I missed it.

There are two reasons for enchanting:

  • I want replace an affix with a different one
  • I want better roll on my favourite affix that’s regularly roller at Min

I understood that in both cases we should not think we will succeed in our attempts…

I hope this is a bug that they will fix, but I was going to respec to another build ad I was going to prepare some gear… I think now I can not respec

They said they “fixed” affixes repeating on the reroll in the patch notes.
For me is a nerf on every affix roll, even on the item drop. Some sort quality system, some affixes are harder to get because are consider better quality.

Stick with your equip from before the patch, will be super hard to get something better now.

Blizzard said that they have done a new sistem for crafting because they didn’t like the system in d3, centered on creation, and wanted replace it with a system based on rerolling.

But they ruined their system. It is stupid spend resources in rerolling, we need to drop near perfect items now

Not sure if that is a bug, it’s hard to tell, but if they wanted to fix “always the same stat on every reroll” one simple solution is to memorize the current roll and on the next, if the priority hits again, you detect it and roll another affix instead, which would have lead to having a priority roll on every odd/even roll respectivly. This is not the case, so it appears that they removed the priority affixes all together, that results in always having 2 fully random rolls, which makes it impossible to have any distinct way to fix an item, it turned to pure RNG now, which tends to be a multitude more expensive, than the -40% reduction or what ever they gave us. Let’s hope they really only did this as a temp “fix” and bring it back later in a better form. Guess just adding a 2nd random along with the priority roll would’ve been the better fix, which leads me to the conclusion they didn’t understand the problem correctly at all…
