I just hit 46 and probably have respec’d my build 20-30 times already just by trying new things. It’s up to about 70k per respec now, wondering how bad I screwed myself. I’ve got like 3m gold, but I know the game is fresh and this respec cost is only going to go up and up from here. Should I just reroll?
Thanks
Lucky you…My cost is over a quarter million to respect.

The costs to respec do not increase the more often you do it, unlike the way the costs to roll stats increase with each roll in D3.
The costs go up as you have more skill points spent, so you have not screwed yourself if you still have any gold left even if you spent it all on respeccing.
But now that you know what you like to play, you will not be able to keep respeccing as often going forward without it being cost-prohibitive.
Making a new hero does not help anything at all since the costs do not rise with the number of times you have changed specs.

So the cost caps itself at level 50?
The cost scales as you level. I’m at 400k for a full respec (lvl 64). 400k isn’t alot as I have 8 mil. You get gold pretty easily late game.

I would not think it caps at level 50, since you can still gain skill points after level 50 from renown, etc. I think it is purely based on the number of currently spent skill points.
So, if you have only 1 point spent, it is very cheap to refund that point. If you have 50 points spent, then it costs a lot to refund one point, but the cost goes down as you refund points, since you have less points spent.
You can also respec by right clicking the node you want to remove 1 by 1 instead of doing a full respec unless off course that what you wish to do. You may or may not have known this but I have seen some people on these forums that were not aware of that. You dont have to “full” respec each time unless thats what you want to do.
