Diablo IV progress reset

How do you actually open a Ticket when the “24/7 Customer Support” button takes you trough a recycled word scrapping tool from 2012 that automatically funnels you into refund or technical docs?

I have an issue with Diablo IV, I played the trial from battle net, got a hardcore character to lvl 25 and then I got locked out the game. Everything ok to this point.

But I decided to buy it on Steam and it imported the old character/account somehow.
I want to start anew because I accidentally claimed some one time rewards from the winter event I suppose on the hardcore character, and technically, I played on a different platform, it should let me start from 0 and claim the stuff on the new non-hardcore character. I never chose to connect to battle net or sync data.

Do I have to refund it and buy it on a new battle net account? Why did my Steam continue with the trial progress from Battle.net?

All of your progress is saved to whatever email you used. So yes you would have to refund and make a brand new account with a different email.

rewards are always account bound. since we are talking about the winter event rewards, you might not have gear that suits your class (if you chose to play something else now), the cosmetics are for all of them tho.

would be kinda OP actually if the winter rewards could be claimed multiple times ^^ they were huge ^^

I may have missed something…

OP specified that the trial was played on bnet, and that the purchase was on Steam, and that the two were not linked-

B/c idk the process over Steam… when you buy the game there, does it not simply use your Steam credentials (ie a unique Steam identifier) to identify you to Blizzard? It’s not obvious to me why Blizzard’s end should’ve recognized the OP as the same account as during the free trial.

Unless OP did somehow link them without realizing, maybe even in a previous interaction.

In a few weeks you will technically get a reset of sorts with the new season
