Diablo iv - pc restart issues

hello.
first im sorry for my bad english (not my native language)

problem:
bought D4 on steam - and this game reboots my PC after alt tab, almost 100%
or with a random action a couple of times an hour.

ALT-TAB - BLACK SCREEN - PUFF - RESTART
ive got ˜20 restarts for one evening…

there are no errors in the windows BSOD log, the event log shows the usual kernel panic. (as after force shutdown)

judging by reddit, I’m far from the only such lucker, the problem has been from the release to this day.
on any hardware from the weakest to the top
it doesn’t matter what we have as CPU/GPU: amd/nvidia, intel/nvidia, amd/amd, intel/amd.

and no one, not even the Blizzard support knows what to answer

I tried all the crap from the forums, from reinstalling everything except Windows (game, drivers, all sorts of updates) to lowering the voltage of the processor (lol), undervolt, overclock, stock) and disabling RAM XMP profiles in the BIOS, CPU DRIVERS dowgrade, I installed potato graphics - it doesn’t help at all, the game constantly reboots the PC. I tried voodoo magic: rename\delete config\dlls\checking files, windowed mode, praying. etc

My specs are not the worst: 7800x3D, 6950XT, DDR5 32 gb 6000 mhz, NVME SSD, 1 tb kilowatt platinum power supply.

All other applications, games (much more demanding too) and even stress tests for 1 hour (OCCT, Furmark, Aida) - the flight is smooth, nothing heats up, even under stress (< 50 celsius iddle temps, ˜70 celsius under stress tests)

Trouble only with D4.

Has anyone encountered this??
I’m shocked, guys, the last time such crap was on 2000 year when i bought warez on CD-R on the street market.

Yes, there has been a memory leak for some time. It gets better with patches, then it randomly comes back with other patches. A lot of times it is Fenris Error (this is the games generic catch all exception), sometimes it is CTD or Forced Reboot/BSOD.

The reboot can happen even while playing for some.

Your case may be different if it happens every time you alt tab. But keep an eye on the memory usage when you do this.

You said you checked event viewer, so nothing to add there.

I personally have never had this happen on Alt+Tab, but I have had reboots when the game has too much going on, on screen, about 5 total since launch. It is not a lot, but I would have stopped playing this if it were higher than that.

Open a ticket if you have not, if you have tried everything people stated on the forums, the general idea should be to lower the game’s memory footprint.

i dont know how to check memory leak because i will get restart after any alt tab

anyway thanks for ticket suggest
