Diablo IV crashes/shuts off my SSD

I have a Samsung 970 Evo NVME SSD which works fine for almost every game I’ve put on it, including Ark Survival Ascended and Ark Survival Evolved, but when I run Diablo IV on it, the drive stops working, vanishing from my list of drives, and the client insists the install path is invalid.

The only other game this happens with is Helldivers 2.

Check your drive health and see if there is a Firmware Update available for this drive.

Download and use Samsung Magician Software to do this.

If this works then great… if not it’s peace of mind that your drive is good / up to date.

I did this before I posted, but also ty!

Just curious… what’s your process to get the drive recognized again?

oh it’s fine when I reboot

Edit: as an update it’s affected V Rising so I do not know if it’s the drive itself or if it’s something in the way these games are coded, but either way it’s clearly Samsung’s fault.

Considering that I had the same drive in 2022 with an earlier driver and it died… both were gifts from a friend. Fortunately it’s not my boot disk or my only SSD.
