Thanks for that. I normally keep up on those vids but missed that one.

If Rathma’s Prophecy is correct we should be seeing Diablo next since we already saw Mephisto. Baal will be after Diablo. I just want to see the Big D. The last character around from any of the past Diablo games I have any connection to and the only one, since Cain is gone, from the first three.

Brilliant stuff! Props to the creators, especially to the writing team who’ve poured some serious thought into these vids!

And thank you once again, Avalon, for continuing to post these sorts of things, these little treasures to the forums!

(Yeah, I’m not subscribed to YouTube and no longer bother with Twitter, so your “gifts” are very much appreciated!)

No problem I try to help in my way most people do not care but some do.

Contrarian opinion but I’m not blown away by the writing. I really like the creation of sanctuary, the eternal conflict and the character of Inarius and Lilith. All that mythology is fascinating but it stops there.

However everything after from d1-d3 feels shoehorned in with countless deus ex machinas. And I still don’t get why angels are portrayed as good and demons as bad, when technically to humanity they are both antagonistic forces. And for the life of me I still don’t get what demons are attempting to do and what angels are attempting to do.

I feel that d4 could wipe the canvas of d1-d3 and really deliver a compelling story but I fear they’re gonna blow it.

I mean let’s be honest d1-d3 the lore is an excuse for you to kill demons, it doesn’t even make sense. I hope d4 does more.

Seemingly, that’s often the way of things.

And, frankly, yes, it’s often disheartening to feel or believe your efforts go unnoticed or remain unappreciated. And, similarly, it can be frustrating (if not downright discouraging) to receive criticism, faint or otherwise, for doing what you believe is right (including the sharing of terrific interactive maps, links and resource guides ).

But hang there, Avalon, and keep the faith: people are often kinda slow on the uptake, and never really know what they have until they’ve lost it.

(hmmm… probably another great Joni Mitchell song lost in there somewhere)

Fortunately, life’s great equation is kinda balanced, and folks like you remain dependable. For what this is worth: Please, keep on doing what you’ve been doing, Avalon, because you’ve been adding terrific content to the forums, making a huge difference to more folks than you’ll ever know. I just happen to be one of 'em.

(admittingly, this last section would probably carry greater weight, more gravitas, if it were read aloud by a great orator - actors Patrick Stewart and Morgan Freeman immediately come to mind - alas, I’m on a budget)

And now the TLDR version: Thanks again, Avalon!

Did we learn anything from part 3? Seemed to be a coles notes of D1 & 2 plot details, with a summary sentence of D3.

This is it, I’m convinced Lorath is the new Deckard Cain.
The deep voice, dark intonation and show of wisdom and knowledge pretty much all falling in place with this voice actor for Lorath. 100/100 marks for being the one of the central characters in the franchise in the next couple of years.

I think they are portrayed as good compared to demons but I feel like the story has made it pretty clear that some of them consider humans to be abominations and would happily do away with us. But Tyrael has been an important character in D2 and D3 and he can definitely be considered good.
D1-3 just tells the story of the games and is as convoluted as a game was. If they were going to make it into a movie or a novel much of it would probably be cut out. Most games have convoluted stories full of quests and side antagonists that wouldn’t make the final cut of a normal story. They have left out some of it but are giving us the broad strokes. The story of D4 will probably be similar. Enjoyable (to some not all) to live through as we play the game but if you were trying to tell the story afterward you would probably skip some parts and condense it.

Thanks. Will travel tmr and would be great to listen.
