Diablo Broke My Secondary Monitor

YES, It sounds crazy, but when I started playing Diablo IV my second monitor started flashing, I just happened with Diabloi, my PC is something decent and I have never had that problem, only when I ran Diablo, my graphics are completely new, my screen no longer gives video and is not burned, it only turns on but does not give video after it was glich when the game started. It should be noted that I usually play games with good graphic load but I do not know what happens with Diablo IV only with the start to blink the monitor and is already dead :(.

 Diablo kills monitors now

I think this is a little much to blame a game for killing a monitor of all things.
Could it possibly be that it’s luck it’s messed up. And may have gone at that precise time even if you was playing something else?

honestly I know it seems exaggerated and crazy, but it only happened to me when I opened diablo :/, I’m not kidding, it’s a lot of cohincidencia that just when I start playing diablo iv my monitor started doing that, I even started playing other things and restarted the pc, reinstall drivers and even so I repeat “I ONLY BLINKED WHEN I OPENED DIABLO IV”, now I do not know with the 100 usd of the ultimate buy me the game or new monitor XD, And I repeat, it only happened with Diablo, I even decided to ignore him and then he didn’t give any more video.

edit/add:

my career is computer technician and I think it was some inconvenience with video optimization or something, when I entered the menu everything good, but after I entered to play they lowered FPS and lag, and then the other monitor began to flash, I have stable network connection, and my pc is mid-range, I repeat, too much.It happened that the monitor ended its useful life just and only when it executed Diablo IV. TOO MUCH COINCIDENCE.

Ok. I know you probably already thought of this, But have you made the defective monitor the main one, and unplugged the working good one, and then tried to play?

Diablo 4 is worse than an old ms-dos virus, you know what happened to me, for anyone who wanna risk ur hardware:

I already have a while with the monitor, and if I disconnect it and since yesterday I am only using a monitor, the monitor on but does not show any video, after I decided to ignore it while playing until I turned on more, I left it in a corner of the room, it is worth mentioning that my graphic is new 2 months at most, But I repeat, I even tried other games like Cyberpunk, Conan, GTA, Red Dead and another and I swear it only happened to me with Diablo IV, disconnect it several times, change ports, change HDMI cable, displayport and did not show, not even my switch made you react and I’m thinking about playing Diablo IV with this type of optimization, it is worth mentioning that in the previous beta the game consumed too many resources especially the graphics put it to full but it is normal. My monitor was literally taken away by the devil. :/.

Ifniflus,
At least someone laughs, but if it happened to any of you would not be so happy, but that’s fine, after all Blizzard will not take care of this and take it as a parody and it is always the final consumer who is to blame not the product of the company.

edit/add 2:

TheMAX,

hahahaha may not be a virus but I think there is something wrong with the graphical optimization or conflicts with some XD driver. jajaja

SAME exact issue here, playing Diablo 4, graphics card is less than a month old.
As soon as I close Diablo 4, my second monitor starts flickering, like one or two frames of what is on the screen is now shifted over.

As soon as I close Diablo 4, and it doesn’t stop unless I shut the computer down for a bit.

I’ve stopped it also by reinstalling the graphics drivers, clean install.

Zero issues in anything else before Diablo 4, zero issues until I close Diablo 4.

EDIT: Just tossing in my monitor hasn’t died, I turn it off when the flickering starts but I am pretty sure Diablo 4 is just crashing part of the GPU driver.

I had the same issue. D4 is the only game that causes flashes on my monitor. Then I started getting burn in. Even restarting my PC you could still see remnants of it. I did a LCD Conditioning and was able to restore it but now I’m quite cautious to play it until a new driver update or something.

I am almost inclined to believe you. I have a new Dell G3223D monitor. I’ve been using it for about 6 months gaming primarily with Witcher 3, and WoW. I am suddenly noticing that if I tab out of Diablo, and am busy doing other things (email, internet browsing), my system framerates go all wonky. It’s supposed to be set at 165Ghz but if Diablo 4 is in the background, it’s all over the place, and there’s this crazy strobing/flicker that is noticeable on solid color screens.

I’m not using the same model as you but also rocking a Dell. Dell S2721DGF which is supposed to be at 165 Hz but the issue did pop up when ALT tabbing (or I at least noticed it when looking back at it).

Don’t know if it’s a GFX card thing but I’m on a 3070Ti for the sake of sharing knowledge.

Got the same issue here with an RTX 2080 and an Asus XG285 screen.

As soon as I have both screens on, my second screen starts flickering as if it would constantly change refresh rate.

If I use only the second screen, things are fine.

Seems like it was an issue with adaptive sync.
Nividia released a Hotfix driver for this issue (536.09)

Fixed the issue for me

Great find. Thank you, mua! I’ll check it out.

Thank god I found this post I thought I was going nuts!! Because it’s too much of a coincidence. But my ASUS Rog monitor just flashed grey last night. And gives me a grey screen. And now it’s burned I don’t know what to do but I believe Diablo 4 may of caused this. And now I just bought a brand new Samsung and D4 seems to be working it’s magic on this new monitor of $300dlls like what is going on here I just wanted to let you know your
Not alone and D4 just burned my main monitor

hmm, I just broke my motherboard just by installing it and planning to play it, did not run it once before PC just did not start one evening…Diablo 4 might be jinxed and we need a priest

I revived it by removing BIOS battery…true story but dunno if it connected with the game.

just one example…anything can happen, we lived era few years beck that there was not enough components and companies had to use BAD ( ty BB…I do not swear) components, cos they had to.

I broke my gpu once while gaming wow…and I did not even thought blaming game itself.

I downloaded the nvidia hotfix and my PC is still experiencing refresh rate “flashing”. Like turning on an old computer monitor from the 90’s and it flickers on for a few seconds at first. It only does this if I tab out of diablo and is extremely noticeable. It only sometimes persists when tabbing back into the game and is noticable in-game as well, and other times, tabbing back into the game corrects the flashing. On rare occasion, the flashing persists even after closing the game completely and I have to restart my computer. My monitor flickers like crazy though every time I do need to tab out of the game.

PC: Custom corsair watercooled:
Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Pro
Intel Core i5 12600K
Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Xtreme Waterforce WB 12G
Corsair Dominator 32G 5600 X.M.P
Dell Gsync G3223D Monitor

My husband has the same monitor, but has a MSI ‎GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING Z TRIO 10G and his computer flickers and experiences FPS stutter in game as well.

And it broke my car as well, have to check my washing machine brb with update.
