Ngl that single dungeon in Immortal with Kulle and Tal Rasha fighting Baal was cool and made me think why isn’t there an entire Diablo game with those characters in their timeline? We only hear about them from dialogue or lore items like books. There was so much happening apparently like Mage Clan Wars and stuff.

Could work as old school rts game with both good and evil campaigns depending on faction.
There won’t be a Diablo 5 for a long time. Diablo 4 just came out and they’re planning on annual expansions.

It will be a few years. Blizz did say in an interview that they’d like to shorten the Diablo development cycle to have a new game every 5 years instead of 10 years. We’ll see if they can pull that off or not.
Do you have a source? Was this after Diablo 4 was announced? Doesn’t make sense that they’d want a sequel when this is an ongoing live service game.

Thanks for the link, what he says is pretty vague. He said, “going forward, you won’t have to wait so long between titles. We have a lot more coming to Diablo 4 and beyond!” There’s not a lot to take from that because he mentions more coming to Diablo 4 as well. He could be talking about the annual expansions.
He’s also no longer with Blizzard so who knows what happens now.
Yeah I can’t imagine Microsoft being as patient though. A 5 year lifespan for a game like this would still be pretty good these days.
I didn’t realize until looking up other games because of this thread that Destiny and Destiny 2 were only 3 years apart from each other. I thought it was a lot longer than that.
Who knows really. Blizzard cancels a lot of projects, including the original Diablo 4 that was in development for 2 years, so I wouldn’t put any weight either way until it’s close to release.
