Diablo 4 - will the game improve or continue to flounder?

Almost everyone knows this game is on the road for further decline unless Blizzard makes rapid changes. User reviews (not paid critics/company that gives positive reviews to help sell games) but actual players give this game around a 5/10 on average on other review sites. Simply put, it’s just not a good game and Blizzard should take the criticisms seriously to improve their game.

I’m sure a lot of people have seen the video, but when The Act Man says it is bad the game must have REAL issues because this guy has been nothing but fair with other games. Everything he says is accurate and a significant issue with the game. Video has over half a million views in half a day and 39,000 likes. Why would he lie if the game was actually good? He has no motive to say it’s a bad game. Why is Blizzard not talking about this or if these kind of videos are unfounded why not anything positive with their numbers?

Blizzard should watch his video a few times to understand the issues with their game since he points out issues casuals have first. Then they need to work on itemization and giving Diablo 4 an actual end game.

Ya know something, I personally knew it was going to struggle to be a decent game after I hit level 100 but I wanted to let others make their own decision. I want Diablo 4 to improve but it seems the focus is on hamster wheel type content like seasons. This might even inflame the situation and worsen Diablo 4’s position.

We’re getting no real improvements in Season 1. They went all out with 7 new aspects. LOL

You can see the issues with the game long before you hit level 100. You may not see all the issues, but I noticed design flaws while doing the campaign.

Way to claim to speak for “almost everyone”…

…you think user reviews are posted by “Actual players”?

How old are you?

Why would a youtuber ever lie?

Bashing D4 is a good way to get tons of view and likes nowadays. They all says the same things. I think the fishes are not who you think they are.

He’d actually get more views if he defended the game because it’s the more controversial position to take. The majority think it’s a bad game. The game has a few good things about it, but much outweighed by the bad. I’d start by pointing out the item drop/reroll stat system is more like an item snooze system and running dungeons turns this game into Vendor Simulator 4. That’s a BIG problem in a loot based game.

What specifically did “The Act Man” lie about? I watched the whole thing. Seemed pretty spot on for a casual review from a guy who didn’t even want to stick around past level 48. I got to 100 so I know how boring this game gets.

This guy really couldn’t just play until WT4…

I’m not giving some youtuber and his fanboy a view to help him with the youtube algorithm so he can get ad revenue. How about you explain some of his points for him if he does it so well (in the process of leveling up all the way to 48, apparently)

For them to do this requires self reflection, a balanced judgement of things and integrity. If they do a 180 on the mechanics of this game(as bad as they are) its a tacit admission that they were wrong and out of touch with what makes games fun. Not to mention the talent required to fix the issues and make things right. But if the talent and competence was there to begin with D4 wouldnt be the mess it is at this moment would it? You may be in for a disappointment.

The game will improve because of all the complaining. Blizz is dutifully taking notes on all the complaints in these forums and is going to invest time and money into addressing all your complaints. /s off

Both!

It’s going to improve over time, but people who think it’s going to be magically reworked by season 2 may want to go play something else for a while.

He said Modern Warfare II (2022) was a good game lmao

Wrong. Too much complaining can undermine the moral of the team, and so the game can be worse or take some slow down, not to mention some internal crisis.

It’ll improve because Blizzard cares about their engagement metrics that drive their MTX sales.

It won’t improve until those start to slump in to the panic zone, which is where general disdain starts to impact expected revenue.

They have an obvious plan, and it cannot be messed up, most likely due to market perception, which is why any change outside of that scope is slated to happen well after season 1.

They want to “hit it out of the park” for the shareholders, which they have.

The video has 40k likes to 2k dislikes. Can’t get any realer than this and out of a size sample of 604k views within 12 hours of the video posting. The overwhelming ratio is mirrored in every other social media, from youtube, twitter, reddit, forums. The general public thinks the game is mediocre.

I’m not a fanboy. I just work in a hospital and was glad I could watch his high quality content to soften the blow of being disappointed by Diablo 4. This was during my downtime of course.

If you get some free time in your busy schedule, you should give it a watch. He did make the video entertaining and all the points are relevant. When a creator covers content I’m interested in (games/Why D4 is bad), there’s no reason not to give him a click and upvote. Ads have no effect on me/I just skip em but I understand people are susceptible to them.

If they keep their promise of 4 seasons a year then 28-32 new aspects a year is fine. I don’t really care about them adding new content until bug fixing is done and quality of life changes take place on major build options.

I honestly don’t get the hate around season 1. We didn’t really get new content but the game needed a lot more time in the oven before adding icing anyways. We still don’t have leaderboards, chat, trading hubs, group finder, lobbies, etc. Even if they added some crazy raid style content or new end game grinds it’s all going to be done solo by 99% of players.

At this point I think they are better off increasing build parity. Making sure people are able to progress and enjoy content goes further than giving the 2% hardcore gamers more of a grind. That 2% isn’t leaving but the casual gamers who don’t have the passion to respec into the meta or look up a build will go back to other titles they actually enjoy.

How much does he pay you to promote his channel or do you just do it because you are a blind follower?

You realize that’s not the real dislike count, right?

Youtube doesn’t expose dislike counts anymore, so your number is only based on an estimate from whichever extension you have, with its only data source being the other users of that extension, which is a biased population. Look up ‘selection bias’

Almost like the game shouldn’t have been released, huh?
