Out of these two incredible games created by the greatest gaming company in all of existence, which do you prefer?
Just curious how the comparison works out on a D4 forum.
BTW, I love both.
Cheers!
EDIT: Just wanted to illustrate how it’s perfectly fine to compare D4 against D2R, but you can’t compare D4 to PoE or the thread gets deleted. Out of the 30 (or so) threads that got posted yesterday showing the amazing gameplay in PoE2 (also asking why it can’t be in D4 since PoE2 is still in alpha), all of them were deleted. Mysteriously, when someone makes a comparison thread between D2R and D4, it gets deleted.
Apparently, the mods don’t like it when you compare D4 to other ARPG’s unless they’re created by Blizz.
You’re probably one of those people who actually likes depth. You should try copy/pasting meta builds and listening to podcasts while mindlessly grinding. You might be able to stand D4 at that point, if you try really hard to keep from thinking.
Going “Baals Deep” in D2R or spamming the dungeons in D4. Both are equally boring long term, but the itemization in D2R is better so that wins for now.
D2R is an old game revised to get more money out of the D2 fan base. Putting lipstick on that old hen doesn’t make her a chick. D4 hands down. As a matter of fact, I’ll take D3 then D4. Let the flame war begin!
They both have pros and cons. As far as playstyle and overall enjoyment, D2R wins by a long shot! I just get angry playing D4 most of the time due to its miniscule stash space, getting one-shot, and now with the Arbitoire add on, there is virtually no rewards for all that grinding with the exception of .02% Damage on your new glyph. This just made me quit D4 and go back to D2R until S3 comes out with hopefully better and more rewarding content.
D2 is nice because of the itemization. But the actual gameplay and graphics are too painful for me these days. I find it very clunky to play.
D4 lacks an endgame, but frankly I don’t have an issue with that. I can play for 6-8 weeks every season, take a break, then come back for the new season. It’s a perfect game for casual players - unlike some of the other ARPGs out there.
