Over the past 24 hours my Batttlenet app has been trying to download an update(?) for Diablo4 and is going at a rate not more than 1MBs. As I was doing this yesterday at about 50% downloaded, which took about 6 hours, I saw a message to restart the app, so I restarted and then lost my download. I am now trying to download this update or whatever it is, and it is still very slow
BNet => Gear icon next to the play button
Game settings/Downloads => uncheck all downloads limits.
This does not work. There seems to be no way to speed it up. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it twice. Once onto a new drive. The whole game can be reinstalled in about an hour yet the update wants to download at a snails pace.
I also am having this problem today trying to download the D4 pre release content. Turning off the download limits in settings does nothing.
Others should nevertheless check this. I came here after noticing the “pre-release” rate was capped at 1MB/s on one machine & unchecking the box.
I only looked because I was downloading on a different machine yesterday with an initial download rate of 100+ MB/s (which eventually slowed to low double digits). That was pre-dawn hours.
Time of day, location, traffic are probably factors.
Thank you-I went from 7 hours to 25 minutes!!!
To all this is still affecting, turn off browser hardware acceleration in the blizzard app. Fixed my download rate big time!
Unchecking the limits worked for me also, thanks!
