I am unable to see any chat messages in either the Local or Trade channels.
I have whispered dozens of people, and finally one person responded, saying that they could see the messages I posted in Local and Trade, but I can’t see any messages in either Local or Trade chat, except my own that I post.
I have seen a couple of other bug reports submitted regarding this, but no response from Blizzard.
The lack of chat completely eliminates the ability to partner up with anyone else for dungeons, etc.
I am going to try to uninstall / reinstall the game to see if that works…
Can someone from Blizzard please respond to this? Thank you.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the game fixed the issue.

I’m getting same issue. Have not been able to chat with anyone since I’m start playing on saturday (03.06)!
I’ll try reinstalling the game as well… Hope it works afterwards
I haven’t received or sent a single text chat. I didn’t miss it, honestly, but now that I’m up in the 40’s I’d like to visit a regional or global chat occasionally to group up with folks. I looked at options and opened chat (enter), but the only text I see is quest NPC’s and their banter.
I just reinstalled the game. Chat is still not working. Only channel listed is Local even though I enabled Trade in options. I disabled NPC Chat and nothing is showing up in the chat window.
(I went back to the player select screen and reentered the game and now the Trade channel is showing but still no chatter!)
Other players can see my Texts in local.
[update] I did a world boss today and I noticed both Trade and Local chats. It was only about 2 messages each. I guess either Chat is dead or somehow it got fixed.
[Off Topic Question] Sorry, but I looked on Google and Youtube and can’t find any info on what is the best thing to do with lower level Sacred Items, I am talking about Whites, Blues and even Yellows. I am not sure what to do with them. Do I salvage them or sell them. Right now I have a bunch in Locker. I Salvaged a white one and all I got was a couple Rawhide, pretty much the same as a normal item.

I’ve been playing since the game released. I haven’t seen or been able to send a single message in Local chat as well. When I try to send a message, I receive the following message: There was a problem sending the game chat message. (Code 3)
If anyone has some insight, I would be thrilled to learn.

what is the deal - clan chat does not work, why cant this be fixed or addressed?

No text chat available for party. Tabbing through chat window does not open party chat even though I’m partied up. Checked literally every single option in settings and controls everywhere…chat screen, game controls and even Bnet account options. Can’t enable party chat.
Horribly frustrating not being able to talk and discuss anything.
when You repair LOCAL CHAT in game??? its Multiplayer RPG game and we cant chat in game , How we can gather party with random players

Same here can’t chat with locals and trades chat which is annoying. I hope the fix it. I’m using ps5 version n i bought the game in my account.

Yes, this is still an issue. I’ve deleted the cache, reset chat settings on my battle.net account, turned realID on and off and on again. No party chat, no local chat, no trade chat, no nothing of any kind. Can’t party, can’t trade, can’t talk to anyone in any way, get no replies from anyone and no error messages. It’s been months, can’t find a single reply anywhere.

The solution it seems is to buy a game (game credits/cosmetics doesn’t count) on battlenet. I had the same issue - I bought the Steam version of the game and I had no trade channel and no whisper. I then bought diablo 4 again on battlenet and now both versions have trade channel and whispers unlocked. It seems like Blizzard had put a restriction on accounts until they buy something - which is ridiculous…

Still got the problem on PC with Pass. Tried everything and option but no resolved.
Earlier I wrote that I have the same problem as everyone here. But yesterday another one was added, now I can’t write in the clan chat. I can’t see what they write and I can’t send a message…
When writing in the clan chat, it gives the following message:
“there was a problem sending the clan chat message”
We tried absolutely everything with the clan leader…
When sending a whisper, it gives the following message:
“Message not visible due to cross - platform permission”
When entering the game, it says that cross - platform play is enabled and you can also communicate with other players.
Blizzard, are you going to solve this problem there?
