Diablo 4 simply needs an endgame 2.0

I think the seasonal theme in season 7 is great however the announcement was shy of any new endgame system. After the success of loot 2.0 and progression 2.0 the biggest remaining pain point (that isn’t a bug) for myself and the players I talk to is the endgame. The endgame could benefit from a 2.0 treatment preferably before the next expansion. There simply isn’t much reason to log into D4 and play a certain toon upon reaching a certain point in the endgame post Paragon 230. The endgame isn’t rewarding enough so the seasons fall short for most players at around two weeks to a month. I do not know what Blizzard is cooking but it could use a new meta to the endgame. Itemization in D4 turned out better than the competition who dropped the ball with their crafting system. However I still think Diablo 4 can benefit from deeper itemization systems that layer over existing systems.

Agree! What would be an endgame system you would want?

I think something like the breaches from season 6 but at the end you fight each boss from the campaign with mats/gold/obducite/equipment as drops.

What about a pit style obelisk where you choose which campaign boss to fight with increasing difficulty? Or the campaign boss is random but you choose the difficulty 1-100; drops are still random from obducite/gold/mats/equip. Uniques and mythics stay with current tormented bosses.
