This is a lawsuit just waiting to happen especially amidst the recent streamer doxxings. Obviously Blizzard has no concern for privacy to think this is even something they should implement. If i wanted to stream i cant do so unless i now use streamer mode which then changes all my info anyway so the people who blizzard thinks should be able to locate me cant anyway. Sheer Idiocy. REMOVE MY REAL NAME FROM YOUR GAME!

I disabled real ID the minute I saw this, it’s been almost 48 hours and still shows up for me. So…
This is stupid, real names have no business in games. And people are crazy…
clan cant see it, its just on your end.
It matters if you share your screen, maybe you are showing a friend how to do something on discord screen share or maybe you stream on Twitch. We should never see our real names in game.

Doesn’t California law make it to where you can request for your data to be deleted rapidly by anyone? Not sure if it has been implemented yet, but I would think Blizz will need an avenue to delete personal information and obfuscate it if asked to. The RealID BS if true will just cause me to start a lawsuit against this corporation.

Huge issue, I have to keep streamer mode on otherwise any page my character’s name appears can expose my real name for screenshots or recordings… Please fix this.
This can be a good thing… If people can’t hide their names we would have a LOT less trolls and harassment! I say add in physical addresses as well and put them on display and let the keyboard warriors deal with what they earn!
