Diablo 4 serious lag

Do you guys also have the same problem? It’s been 2 days, that there is extreme lag and it’s impossible to move in the game. After patch 1.4.1. What can i do?

Not sure.

I know of at least one person that found the problem was with their own router that was causing lag/latency spikes while playing.

I get them occasionally, but I know exactly why those happen. (trees that slightly obstruct my Starlink)

But if I use my backup DSL line, no issues at all. I even enabled Crossplay again, and see more players in game, and even then it plays fine.

Time to start running down the check list. You can use this older thread with a lot of compiled network troubleshooting tips:

Same here, after last update. I move 2 steps with my hero and then lag comes, etc. Lag becomes worse and worse …

I’ve not had any issues before or after the patch.

I have had the same problem since the 1.4.1 patch. Game unplayable. My solution after it still happens after I have run down the checklist and made sure drivers are up to date was to uninstall the game and find something else to play. Done with this nonsense.

I tried what DTMAce suggested in the older post, to make some changes with net hardware … it did not help though … latency is ok ~70 but i have lag and that lag is increasing after moving hero or applying spells … very frustrating … I also tried to unequip some of newest cosmetics. Not connected to that as well … Thanks anyway :]

nothing new. its always been a problem.

Solved. Problem was with driver 555.85. I deleted it via method described somewhere by DTMAce (using Display Driver Uninstaller). Then I tried to install driver 551.31. However, it was not accepted by system. However, version 552.44 worked. Now, there is no lag. Thanks a lot DTMAce.

Yeah, 551.31 is the version that was released when the 4080 Super hit the shelves. So its actually made for that card at that time. The 552.44 is the one for all cards.

2 nights ago, I would go from 85ms too 1200-1400. happens after 8pm. out in the world or in NMD.
Have tried too turn of crossplay, not sure if it helped. Now this morning and now I had 1900ms.
seeing now you mention 555.85 drivers which I updated on may 27th. I will roll back too 552.12

I see 555.99 is out now. If anyone tried this new guy ? :face_with_monocle:

Nothing listed about Diablo in the patch notes:

Dear DTMAce, do you know anything about sound that makes lag ? It seems when I put my headphones on, that lag starts to begin at that moment, and it stays. I turned off sound within game options. Is there anything more we can do with sound to exclude that possibility of making lag ? Thank you in advance. Pomp

Does the lag go away if you stop using the headphones?

Are you using headphones that connect with a USB cable or one that uses a standard 1/8" audio plug?
Or are they wireless bluetooth ones?

Do those headphones also have lighting features?

First, thank you for your answer. Headphones are classical 1/8 with one green audio plug, no bluetooth, no lights, no USB. While I use them lag increases very much up to non-playable. When I stop using them lag decreases but still remains. I can play but lag is also here. Thank you very much !!!

Interesting. I would have expected that behavior with a USB or Bluetooth version. Not sure if there is anything I can suggest to fix that, outside of making sure you have the latest drivers for the sound card provided by the manufacturer of the motherboard or system.
