Diablo 4 Quick Beta Review from Long time fan

Hi,

This will be quick, because I am sure most people don’t care about my opinion (hopefully Blizzard will, although they didn’t during the Diablo 3 beta)

Background: I have played every Diablo game and I believe every Diablo beta.

Diablo 4 beta review score = 7/10.

It still lacks the awesome character customization from the first two games. The customization is dumbed down.
However, it is not as bad as diablo 3; which felt more like an arcade game then an actual RPG to me.

I really do like the art of Diablo 4. They actually kept the dark theme this time, which is cool. The story seems ok/decent.

The combat seems ok I guess, kind of feels limited though (for example: give us another hot bar to customize and switch to).
Also, in the old games I felt I had access to like 20-30 spells (and various strange builds (archer barb, melee sorc.), in this game I feel like I am only going to have/use like only 8 spells max.

Anyways, my scores:
Diablo 1 - 8.5/10
Diablo 2 - 9.3/10
Diablo 3 - 6/10
Diablo Immoral - 6.5/10
Diablo 4 - 7/10

Take care everyone,

Sigmoo.

I can guarantee you right now, no one would ever play Diablo 1 if it came out this year and people would be bashing Diablo 2 to hell if it also was a new game coming out this year. So i am not quite sure what to think about your scores, are they based on heavy nostalgia?

What? This has gotta be a troll post right?

i think he means diverse ways to build your character, not character creation.

Considering he’s taking it from level 25, I don’t think it’s a very fair comparison.

Well Blizzard probably will not care, cause your post has no substance, just some random rating of a user, and a bit of qq

he could have used the calculator on github. I used it… even with only 10 extra renown i have basically everything i would want.

I remember playing the Diablo 3 beta/demo and constantly lying to myself, convincing myself that it was actually a great game. It was like a disappointed kid who received a bad gift.

Then, I played through the entire Diablo 3, continuing to lie to myself with the same story. I hoped that the next character would definitely give me that “feeling” I was longing for. Even now, every once in a while, I find myself returning to Diablo 3 in the hope that the game will finally live up to my expectations. But, in my opinion, that game didn’t even deserve a 5/10.

I played about 20 hours of the Diablo 4 beta, and for the first time in many years of gaming, I had a genuine smile on my face. The gameplay felt brilliant to me. It’s as if Diablo 4 is the Diablo 3 I had always hoped for. Of course, there are many aspects that need improvement in Diablo 4, but it has such a solid foundation!

Of course it is, the man gave Diablo II 9.3. Right away, you can (and I did) skip reading any further.
