Diablo 4 Process high traffic usage

Hi.
I would like to know Why Diablo 4 Process using too much traffic?
Screenshot from task manager : https://ibb.co/fDK1kzm
Screenshot from tcpview: https://ibb.co/wYT8drM
Diablo downloading from those IP adresses at maximum speed. at port 80 (HTTP port, non secure). Game is unplayable beacuse of this. Constant Lags, Stutters and disconnects. When there are going to be a fix for this issue?

If you want to post an image of your issue:

Use imgur.com or a similar image hosting site then link it like this:

put ` ` around your image link `imgur.com`

This will look something like this https://imgur.com/

This same process can be used for youtube links

edit: i see you got your image link sorted

I’m not seeing this issue on my end. Yours seems like you have some sort of a game patch or download happening.

My Task Manager + TCPView

I start my game through the standard bnet launcher and it’s set to close on game launch.

I tried interacting with vendors, went to a Helltide, a NMD, and the Pit. Not once did mine resemble yours.

Are you launching through Steam or something other than the default bnet launcher?

What would happen if you temporarily block port 80?

Will try to Block port 80. Game is launched tru Battle.net launcher.

UPdate:
After blocking port 80 with Windows Advanced firewall, no more traffic on 80 port. Game launched at second try. At first try after selecting character it disconnected. (start Game button)
After second try, World loaded. TCP view is normal. High traffic ONLY when openin stash and thats it. for few seconds it downloads it, and then normally work. Game become much much more resposive and smoother. No lags, no Spikes. No long merchant or anything related freeze yet.
Probably some people who have lags, Slow menu opening are have the same problem.

Will update later how it is going. For now game plays much much smoother.

Are you running / downloaded high resolution textures in the options?

no. Only base game downloaded. Folder size of diablo 4 is 60.6 Gb

I was going to ask if there’s a possibility the game was trying to render high resolution while playing and attempting to download them causing your high data.

any update?
I am having lag spikes only if I don’t wait long enough (5-20 min) before I start moving my character. But if I waited long enough, the game runs smoothly without any lag.

did you check for and have high data usage on port 80 by referencing the above images that the OP was experiencing or are you hoping this is the fix all to everyone’s issues?

no, i haven’t tried to do anything yet. I want to see if OP solved his problem then I’ll give it a try and see if that works for me as well. If his doesn’t work, there’s no point for me in trying either way.

If the game is using that much bandwidth, that means that background downloads are set to enabled in the Battle.net app, which would leave Agent open to download while the game is running even if the Battle.net app is set to kill itself on game launch. Disabling this should return downloads to normal. Port 80 is to the Blizzard CDN and blocking that port will prevent proper updates from the Battle.net app.

If the Battle.net app is not set to close on game launch it needs to be set to do so. It’s a resource hog and has been known to re-download its internal ads repeatedly. None of Blizzard’s games use this much bandwidth for the actual gameplay, not even WoW using the Optimize Network for Speed setting.

Blocking port 80 will also prevent the shop from working properly.
