Diablo 4 - Peripherals losing connection when connected to a USB-switch

This is the only game where I have this issue. My peripherals(mouse, keyboard, headset(wireless)) are losing the connection for 1-2 seconds every 1-5 minuts while in game. It seems to be because of the USB-switch.

Is it because of a power draw issue?
Because when I unplugged 2 devices it got better.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Note: other games work fine while my peripherals are connected to the USB-switch.

Yup, had the same issue. Have no issues with my USB Switch on any other games, but for some reason D4 hates it. Unplugged 2/3 of what I had in it, and put it directly into my PC, that fixed it. Not a permanent solution since I have a sit/stand desk, but for the time being worked.

I have the same problem, do you have any solution?

Had this issue with the Beta, still having it (More often) with the final build.

Same issue for me.

I didn’t had any issues during the betas, but now I can’t play, disconnecting all my USB every few minutes, sometimes even during the characters selection.

The only difference between now and the Beta, except the patches, are a switch from RTX 2070 to RTX 4070. That would be quite sad that this is the reason the game is not working anymore.

This issue is only when playing D4, no other games, or usage.

Same issue here. All my USB Devices losing connection and “reboot” every few minutes when i am playing diablo 4. I Simply cant use my Mouse, Keyboard, Headphones and my Microphone, thought it was my USB Root drivers or the energysaving options on my PC but everything is fine and updated (Already installed everything new), and its only while i play D4.

Top the Line PC with All ROG Parts, including 4090 Strix Card and 64GB Ram and i9 13th gen chip. Basically a $6k PC oh and custom water cooling.

When on Discord and Playing D4 and this is the only game this happens to, USB bugs out and times out and stops working on windows. This is the craziest thing I have ever seen

I had to stop playing D4 on my PC because I can’t go more than a couple minutes before the game freaks out and all my USB devices go dead. I’ve had to pull the power twice to reboot because I completely lost the ability to interact with the PC. I have a top of the line Intel 13900ks w/ RTX 4090. No other games, including Cyberpunk with all the bells and whistles, causes issues like this, it’s unique to D4.

Same here, makes the game unplayable. I unplug/replug my mouse and keyboard which allows them to work again for about 3-4 minutes, then usually the keyboard dies again. i9 13, 4090 GTX, etc. All other games work fine without this issue, hope they release a fix soon so I can play the game.

No, I’m using wireless mouse and keyboard as well and I’ve had zero issues. But I don’t used a USB hub.

Yes. Having the same issue. Try using Windowed mode instead of full screen, it seems working fine

bump. This really needs to be looked into, unlike a lot of the other “bugs” that get reported here. The game shouldn’t be continuously crashing my USB devices. The issue is unique to D4, no other game or computer program (including benchmarking utilities that tax my computer to its limit) causes this issue.

Bump This happens to me, has since beta. Reported it multiple times.

Having the same issue, USB switch inline. Seems impractical to have to not use a switch for a game. Need to share keyboard with my work PC. Any help would be appreciated.

Asus RTX 3080 Strix
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI
AMD 5900x
Corsair corsair hx850 Power Supply
64GB Corsair Vengeance Ram
Windows 11
Corsair M600 1TB

Corsair K95 Keyboard
Logitech G502 Hero

All drivers and bios updated to latest versions.

When playing Diablo 4 with or without discord, I loose usb connection and connection with the secondary nvme game drive. It looks like it reboots the chipset drivers or something. I checked my windows event logger and it states that the system has rebooted my bluetooth and wifi controllers. Disabling my bluetooth and wifi doesnt fix the problem.

Only happens when playing diablo 4.

Any updates as to why this is happening?

Same issue, I have a USB switch and my keyboard and mouse will randomly disconnect for 1-3 seconds.

Can we get a response to this 2 MONTH old issue?

I initially thought possibly latency, but it seems almost Map specific? It happens a lot in Dahgur Oasis/Ragged Coastline.

Having the same Issue. Game randomly disconnects mouse, keyboard, and sound stutters for 1-3 seconds then comes back. Tried about 30+ fixes, nothing works. All drivers are up to date too. I thought it might be faulty hardware but it seems many people have this issue… at first it was bearable but the game is completely unplayable when you run nightmare dungeons and get disconnected during a fight… shame on Blizzard for not even commenting on this major issue.-

I found a reddit post that suggested this:
Disabling the periphal lighting in the settings has mostly fixed this.

I have not had a disconnect for 1 hour now, usually 2-5 minuttes between disconnects.

Disabling the peripheral lighting setting seems to have helped me as well… It suddenly started happening to me last night. Very annoying!
