even blizzard has stop adverting it b/c you know…it’s a third party app they have zero control over that can lead to security risks so discord isn’t an option either.
People who buy DLC should be marked so others can hunt them. That would bring many of us together.
how is that comment " contributing " ?
I’m not sure I’d call this “open world” the way we do in most cases, but I hear what you’re saying. The reality is there are plenty of open world games that are not massively multiplayer. GTA I played completely solo 100% and that had a far more “open world” than D4. Same with Red Dead Redemption.
I don’t think “open world” = massively multiplayer the way the OP made in his original comparison.
Yes there definitely is, but you are the one who compared D4 to World of Warcraft - not me.
There is… it’s called DRM. This is the main reason why most games are forcing you online at all times even though you are playing them alone.
Bingo! Give the man his prize. Online has mostly to do with DRM in D4.
Yea I did compare the social features of D4 to the social features in World of Warcraft. What’s your point?
“D4 isn’t an MMO” is not a point.
My point is that the social features of the Online Multiplayer Game Diablo 4 are terrible in comparison to the Online Multiplayer Game World of Warcraft which came out nearly 20 years ago.
You should only concern yourself with communicating with ONE thing and that is the Shop. Be best friends with it, that is what they care about most.
i play a lot im friendly join me im only at lvl 21 rn doing rend barb
By the way, how is Diablo 4 NOT an MMO?
I can’t make an instance of the world. It is literally a heavily layered MMOARPG.
I mean i sure remember a time where most peoples would define a game being an MMO by how many players you could see in front of you in a town lol. Diablo 4 sure is an Online multiplayers game, the massively part is not here though lol.
WoW classic works the exact same way.
You see a bunch of people in town, and only a few on your layer in the open world. Then you have instanced dungeons for your party.
It’s literally an MMO.
Again, you’re making the same comparison to state your “point” but somehow because you don’t like it my point “isn’t a point”. Regardless of what you say or like - it is a valid point. Comparing WoW and D4 is a terrible position to start your diatribe from. You want to say “Hey D4 needs a lobby” or “Hey D4 needs a global chat” - cool. Why mention WoW at all ? It has no relevance.
Good luck to you in all your future endeavors friend.
There are enough similarities to both online games, just blabbing “ITS NOT AN MMO”, which is actually technically wrong, isn’t a valid point.
You’re the only person sitting here thinking ‘D4 wasnt marketed as an MMO, therefore we dont need working chat channels or the ability to share the loot we find with friends without jumping through hoops’
Theres always gotta be one contrarian.
Drop event. It’ll die when done once again
This game was presented as an MMO - esque ARPG. Its not the direction I would have taken it, but that was presented and its clear by how the open world and towns function that the DIV was designed with that in mind.
Yet its somehow the most lonely experience the franchise has ever seen. FFS just put in general chat. Just something to make the experience feel like it has some life to it. People who don’t want it can disable it. Oh and a decent way to find groups.
it was never supposed to be a MMO like WoW i don’t know why people came here expecting it to be this when Diablo has ALWAYS been a single player game with optional multiplayer.
Fair point that the game doesn’t really do much to help you form groups if you want to play with others (especially if they’re strangers), but I like that the game’s designed to be playable solo with only circumstantial grouping being ‘required’ at times (Legions and world bosses mainly). WoW cuts me off from a pretty substantial portion of endgame content (all of it, depending on who you ask) because I play solo, so I like that not being part of the design here.
Diablo has always been a social game with chat. Diablo 4 is, in fact, an MMO.
