Diablo 4 is really good

I took a break since Season 7 , i tried a bunch of other games like poe 1/2 , newest unreal engine 5 titles like stalker and everything else you can think of , cs2 and what not , huge variaty.

Everything is hot garbage , crashes , servers instability , fps drops , my whole pc freezing and needing hard reset , tons of bugs and list goes on and on. I started to think my GPU is faulty or something like that , but all the stability tests passed without any errors or warnings.

I’ve returned for S9 and i had a blast playing it , butter smooth stable 200fps , never dips bellow 160 in cities or in huge fights , gameplay is smooth , graphics are great not a smudge TTA garbage. It is just so much fun to play , especially on a controller hooked to my PC , character reacts instantly to my inputs and the UI is great (thats just my opinion)

Im just amazed how well the D4 engine is built and optimized , it is soo efficient my GPU Draws 180W max and i have everything set to high/ultra , if i alt + tab it drops down to 30W , any other game hits my GPU to the maximum , never dips bellow 280-330W (rtx 3090)

So i see a lot of videos / reddit / forums trash talking on diablo , and here im just enjoying my time , having fun playing a game. I might get bored within a week or two , having nothing left to do but i will enjoy the ride as much as possible.
Im glad that people are complaining , it means they are passionate about the game and want it to become better , being indifferent is what kills the game.

Let me tell you something from experience i had with diablo 3, first 3-5 years the game was bad , most of the people left during that period , but then it become a game worthy of being immortalized like diablo 2.
It does not matter that the endgame is s*** right now , sure there is no true endgame , no ladderboards or crafting , or anything to keep you playing after a week , but that does not matter , nothing matters , the only thing that matters is the foundation , being a fun to play , fluid , efficient and stable. Things change over time , honestly it feels like a new game to me that i havent played for 2-3 seasons , so much things are different now. I can only imagine how much better would it be in 1-2 years ( hopefully people keep complaining and devs keeps listening , improving it )

So thank you diablo 4 devs , you did a phenomenal job creating such a solid foundation !

Almost everyone will have a different experience when it comes to the performance of D4. I myself have had very little issues, but that doesn’t discredit those that do have constant issues every season where the game just keeps crashing or disconnecting them. It’s important to realize it’s not a player vs player situation.

We all want to play the game whenever we want, and we want the game to get better. So it’s great that you’re having no problems, but again that doesn’t help those with legitimate complaints nor does it make theirs invalid because of your great experience with the game.

I find Diablo 4 to be one the least stable games I have installed. It has weird memory leak issues and a lot of stuttering in some versions with less in others.

I’d say this season seems to be a performance downgrade from last.

Although I no longer have to alt tab out of the game while it’s logging into bnet to prevent it from freezing, so I guess that’s an improvement.

I got a lot of shuttering today and it froze on me. It actually never did that for me. The engine doesn’t feel too good to me. Way too much FPS drops.

defuq did I just read. comparing d2 with d3 is like comparing a diamond with a very polished turd. they are both shiny and have a lot of carbon but they are not the same.

This is the worst I have seen D4 act. Lag issues, rubberbanding, sound problems. Now I just crashed and it is telling me to install the game and the folder I have it installed in is not good to install it in. This season has some serious issues.

What games are crashing, I haven’t played a game that just crashes in a long time and I play tons of EA indie games like vein and surroundead. I’ve played stalker and stalker 2 tons never experienced a crash. D4 has a serious memory leak issue almost every season, don’t think I’ve ever had a full on crash though. Fps drops are constant issue for my 7900 with 24g of vram.

He didnt say anything about others complaining specifically about the game performance or making it invalid. He just said how it works very good on his setup. I’m not trying to discredit those people, but we have no idea what they are running, have they updated software, drivers, etc. So to drill down on those issues would take a bit.

Oh agreed, it’s quite literally searching for microscopic needles in a haystack. I’ve also noticed the trend that it seems to be higher end computers that are having issues more so than lower or mid setups. Those with 4700+ cards for example tend to have the most issues, at least from what I’ve seen of the bug reports and random posts on this forum.

The OP focuses so much on how well the game runs for them, which is great, but the statement of “I’m just amazed how well the D4 engine is built and optimized” isn’t true for a good amount of people mind you. Yes it runs well on their system, but that doesn’t mean the game is optimized well, it just flat out means it runs well on their particular system.

It’s like saying a pair of one-size-fits-all pants fit you perfectly, so they must be well-designed. But Steve over there, who’s shorter, taller, thinner, or heavier, can’t wear them comfortably. Just because it fits you doesn’t mean it fits everyone.
