Diablo 4 is a single player

Maybe this is aging me, but why is it that Diablo 4 is called a multiplayer game? Because in my eyes it is not. Back in the day, you had multiplayer, which was with a group of people, or single player. Not a single player, unless you know people, kind of vibe. Even clans and social lists are minuscule compared to even d2 servers.

Yes, I don’t have any friends that play diablo 4, or video games in general, but why must I feel like I am fighting demons alone in a multiplayer game? You already limited loot to individual drops, why make people play the game 90% alone?

The only “multiplayer” game I can think of that was only single player was dark souls with the addition of entering worlds.

Its not a mmo.
Basically, in D3 you could play a private match or play on a public match and join random ppl.

The just took that idea and made it integrated. It works fine, just like all games, seasonal, Higher world Tiers will have more people as well as turning on Crossplay.

and it will fluctuate and that was the idea.

If i farm Hellide for example somtimes people invite me to party etc.or they dont.

The most Multiplayer you get are World Bosses, the Odd Legion Event, and Hell Tides. Worls Bosses and Legion Events have a much higher likelihood you will even see someone type in Local Chat and invite people to a group.

Hell Tides is hit or miss you will even run into people and only when somehow everyone congregates at the same place and time and someone randomly clicks on a player to invite them and they actually accept and are not already in a group.

So surprised the game launched without a Group Finder and Matchmaking Tool. That would do WONDERS to bring players together. I don’t want to go browse Discord nor do I really care to voice chat other players most of the time. I like occasionally chatting in Party, but otherwise just like the company of other players.
