same here 3070ti … upgraded my RAM from 32gb to 64gb in hopes this will fix it (it fixed the total computer freeze though it seems where I had to hardreset my PC) … but still having the same issue … micro freezes when running around … tping to town… opening inventory etc. also in dungeons…
drivers are all up to date … came here to see if there is a fix … atleast now I know im not the only one with these issues … sad though that it seems there is no solution nor any communication blizz side about this issue …
Tried, has not worked.
I haven’t personally found a fix. The strangest thing is it never happened in the Betas. Only server slam and this release.
The amount of times ive died in Nightmare dungeons to this now is infuriating.

Same thing here … 2080 TI with a I7 9700 … and random freezes and sometimes 10 sec almost …
Same especially in helltides at the worst of time, lost my hardcore character because of it
Same issue on 3080. Seems very random and not gpu load dependent.
Found the topic because I also have the same issue.
Pretty good PC build, played beta without any issue and played since early access without any issue.
My main is about lv72 and I hadn’t encountered the freezes until two days ago.
Needless to say that a totally random freeze, of 3 to 6s, is a game-killer for Tier4 nightmare dungeons. So I rerolled, waiting and hoping a fix?/an update fixes it magically.
I tried the various proposed fixes, none of them worked so far.
I noticed if you enable Nvidia Reflex (in-game setting) the issue occurs more frequently. I tweaked almost every Graphics setting to try to get a session without freeze, to no avail. Crossplay settings, DLSS, everything at hand, not that any of them should matter since I had about 100hours into the game without a single freeze of the sort (rubber-banding cross-areas being a different issue).
So yeah, hope the awareness about this grows, as for me, it is pretty much ruining my gaming sessions … even a lv40 reroll experience isn’t fun…
Forgot to mention, I have this only on D4, where the GPU ram gets maxxed out, which seems to be correlated. (even non-isometric, i.e. less graphics intensive, beta games are running more smoothly)
I remember trying turning off reflex but sadly did not help. In my experience interacting with something in my second monitor seems to be the main catalyst. It’s even more frequent if I have twitch or YouTube open.

I have the Logitech Superlight, and I have mouse issues when playing Diablo 4 as well. I thought it was a Windows problem and I formatted and reinstalled everything again, but it was playing again, and the same thing happens to me.
I searched the internet and found this thread. I’m glad at least that I’m not the only one this happens to, since that way we’ll all look for a solution, and even the developers will try to fix it.
I have also noticed that playing Diablo 4 I have freezes, and I have already thought that it may be because the USB port freezes or something similar, and hence the game freezes sometimes.
The strange thing is that the USB bug remains, because even if I close the game, the mouse continues to behave strangely on the Windows desktop and APPS.
Changing the USB port fixes the problem, but it’s clear there’s something weird going on with Diablo 4
please fix it when everybody else enjoying the hardcore us people cant even play it without walking on the eggshells.i can play wow retail lost ark or many high graphic included games with no problem whatsoever i upgraded my driver put the graphic in lowest still freezing in open world areas please do something…
Been playing with my gf just fine since release but as of today the game started crashing and freezing. Everytime I bring up social menu, it freezes for a few minutes and than crashes or runs again. Never had any issue before, i have rtx 2060, my gf has 1080.
Started to happen to me yesterday. Verified files, and everything is ok…
I´m eager to think it´s just the servers, since a friend of mine just bought the game today and it was donwloading at 10mbps when he has a 1000mbps conection.

I have the same issue. Have had it since beta.
The longer the game runs and the more different areas I visit the worse it gets.
Many suggest it’s a memory issue which I guess could make sense.
It seems like the game isn’t great at caching and cleaning up properly and all of a sudden it goes into panic mode because there’s no more memory and then everything has to wait while the game does it’s emergency cleaning. The entire computer just freezes for several seconds.
I shut down and reload the game and it’s better for a while.
I’ve also noticed while idling that it starts to skip frames every once in a while with the CPU spiking a tiny bit at that exact moment. Happens maybe every 10 seconds, when this issue starts appearing.

Same issue here.
Win 11 + RTX 4080 + Ryzen 7600X (perfectly stable in any other game)
Display drivers are up to date (536.09)
The game suddenly freezes but sound keeps playing.
It happens randomly when using TPs, opening menus or when I start talking to an NPC.
It does NOT happen during normal gameplay, only when an action seems to open a menu or refresh the UI.
Hope this helps troubleshoot this issue.

Same issue here.
Freezing periodically several times per minute even ^D
At some point it’s hard to play, can’t even imagine players who’re on hardcore mode…
Same issue here. Radeon 6800XT. Multiple monitors, running in windowed Fullscreen mode. Crashes are about every 35-55 minutes. Music still plays in the background.
Some things that seem to increase the crash rates:
- Having Chrome open to a Twitch stream
- Having a path pinned on the main map. The pathifinding will freeze the game within 10 or so minutes
- Having steam or really any other app open
Things I’ve tried that DO NOT WORK:
- The chroma value set to 1 in Documents
- Lowering resolution
- Enabling/Disabling vertical sync
- Different presets: gaming, normal, streaming mode in the Radeon Hud - nothing matters, Diablo 4 still crashes and locks up the entire system. Music still runs in the background.
- Lowering FPS
- Lowering visual graphics from Ultimate to lower modes. Doesn’t matter.
C’mon Blizzard, I know you can reproduce this since I am seeing so many people with Radeons and multiple monitors reporting it.

I can absolutly reproduce this for Radeon 6900XT… incl. massive increasing crash rate with video streams. Im using 3 monitors: 2x 1440p 144Hz freesync, 1x HDMI 1080p HDMI. Running D4 in windowed fullscreen mode.
I tried to disable hardware acceleration in my browser(s) but it still crashes with a videostream open. Quick path to a crash in my experience: streaming a AV1 codec Youtube video 1080p 60fps. Fun fact: I could bet this was not the case in the first early access version(s).
I’m playing on Steam Deck. On the last Helltide, my game froze three or four times, which was very annoying. I lower my Texture from High to Medium, so far I don’t have any freezes…yet.
Edit: Okay, 2 hours in, so far no more freezes lowering to Medium texture. But jesus Blizzard, I keep getting disconnected from the game in the last 15 mins. smh
I played both Betas and the Server Slam then the 4 day pre-release without ANY problems. No game freezes, no crashes, nothing. Then on the 6th it all went to hell in a handbasket. Now I’m lucky if I can thru the 30 minutes of an elixir before the game freezes. I have to log out halfway thru a Helltide just to avoid dying from a hang and losing half my embers. They broke something with a patch (or on their servers) on the 6th and haven’t fixed it yet. And they don’t seem to care about it. Multiple people have reported these issues and all Blizzard seems to be able to do is haul out the nerf hammer over and over and over and over and…
Things that can cause a hang include, but aren’t limited to, pressing Esc to bring up the system menu. Pressing ‘A’ for Attributes, ‘C’ for Character, or ‘E’ for the Emote wheel. Porting to town, porting to the Tree of Whispers, riding my horse into a new zone, entering (or leaving) a cellar/dungeon. All of these (and more) have caused the game to crash. And, again, none of these things happened UNTIL Jun 6th. None. My system and drivers didn’t change. Something Blizzard did caused this.
Il semblerait que la manipulation suivante aide à rendre l’expérience plus agréable. J’ai encore quelques petits freezes, mais bien moins régulier.
