I actually look at Metacritic when I don’t know much about a game and look at the user reviews, although I don’t pay super close attention to outliers (perfect 10s and 0s)… I’m looking for balance reviews in the middle

How about all the top results on Diablo 4 and all the top youtube videos talking about this being the worst ARPG patch of all time? Someone thinking about playing the game types that into google and sees the current headlines you think they’re going to play still?
Nope, don’t see ithat happening with the direction the game is going.
Baldr’s Gate 3’s beta is better than D4.

diablo 4 is good but it isn’t some amazing achievement that is revolutionizing the industry. I believe that is what BG3 will do. If bg3 succeeds in doing that as it appears they will, then it’s likely they will get that accolade.

luckily this is a great year for video games and we can forget all about this game easily.
If i buy the game later down the line and saw user score tank hard i would avoid it or if i really interest in the game i probably check for a few page to see if it review bomb or the game have genuinely problem/flaw but in short yes it would turn me aways from the first glance
