Yep, hopefully stuff like this gets addressed before launch.

i dont see problem there …
what more, the barbarian leap i see as broken cuz he cant jump over “locked” map … cant jump to higher places … i wanna be able to leap across obstacles, cant even small ones …
I can jump in some terrains from higher place to lower place with elevation 50 meters, no problem (exaggerating) … but i cant jump 1 meter tall wall with 0 elevation.

and as for teleport … it actually makes sense … if there is no limit on distance, of course, the bigger the resolution the further you can travel … makes total sense.
And being able to teleport across the “locked” map is fine by me … thats how teleport works.

You can teleport wherever you want to as long as you can see there …
jump should be the same … maybe good thing its different but then the jump from 50 meters would have to be fixed …

i think that these mobility skills should be good, even better …

I don’t think this is intended either.

Your monitor size shouldn’t affect how a skill works or how well it works or what you can do with that spell.

It is like this in every ARPG with a teleport to pointer, even D2/D2r. If they made the TP limit small, such that people running low res can tp to the edge and that is the limit for higher res, the the skill sucks for people running high res, as they can only teleport 1/2-1/4 of their screen. I see nothing wrong with this. If they did implement a limit, it should still be balanced for something like 1440 width or greater. Personally, I think any limit implemented should be 1920 or 2048, as FHD/1080p is the most common resolution used on Desktops around the world (around 20% according to 4 different surveys I found for 2020-2022) now and 2K is becoming pretty common as well.

Developing to the lowest settings available is a terrible idea, those exist to let people with low end systems/bad vision play the game, but they are not the norm.

ya this is def not intended.

why not? what about during WB? Zoom level is higher, you can see further … does that mean you cant teleport behind boss because now you want the teleport to have limited range? Well kudos for you.
I will pass on this logic.

Game should offer the same user experience regardless of hardware.

I disagree, that means you have to develop against the lowest hardware still in common use. My gameplay shouldn’t suffer because someone still uses a 10 year old computer that can only pull off 720p or lower. All game have recommended specs and the game should be developed to work at that(which is why they are the recommended specs) with small considerations for those above or below it. Most people play at 1080p or above, so TP being better for those resolutions is perfectly acceptable. That a 2k or 4k gets an even better advantage with Leap or TP is just the way it is and should be. This certainly isn’t a bug as claimed here, nor an exploit, at worst it could be called a bad design decision, although I think it is fine.

Ultrawides should have their range limited to the same range as normal resolution. They should either accept this or the black bars.

Regarding the recommended specifications, I cannot recall if extra wide monitors were included. It is worth noting that while the resolution is a factor, this particular issue is not related to the definition (HD, 2K, or 4K).

Regardless, I believe teleport skill was NOT intended to have this “extra” range behaviour.

I hope it was intended, TP should be effectively infinite if you can see the point to TP to barring technical difficulties like a cliff top that views a non-playable area in some ridiculously vertical zone (or insanely distant playable area, like a view from the edge of a sky island type zone), in my opinion.

They actually didn’t have resolution specs in the recommended specs, only GPU, so my idea fails a bit there, oops. Also, the “definition” as you called it IS a resolution. Full HD (FHD) aka 1080p aka HD is defined as 1920x1080. 2k is a bit shifty as there is a standard 2k display monitor as well as a cinema 2K and they are different enough it is annoying (2560 x 1440 (typical monitor resolution); 2048 x 1080 (official cinema resolution)). 4k is similarly annoying (since it isn’t even 4k on many monitors!), 3840 x 2160 (typical monitor resolution); 4096 x 2160 (official cinema resolution). You can have a definition/resolution on any physical size, in the same way 15" laptop screens today have the same resolution as a 24" monitor of the past. Those names are pretty well defined standards today. Computer Display Standard on wikipedia has a great table for the names, sizes, and origins/uses.

Please fix this Blizzard max range on these skills pls. I’d make it so you can still click anywhere you want but the sorc will only ever teleport as far as a 16:9 box around the character. Same with every other ability in the game like hydras and blizzard and basically all the stuff sorcs are going to use to be op and have people playing in 21:9 on windowed mode.

Yes, they should only offer 1920 x 1080 resolution. Nothing else.

This has nothing to do with resolution. This an issue with aspect ratio. Proper nomenclature matters here.

Regardless, limiting teleport range on an ultra wide would actually make their gameplay experience worse. How would the player know exactly where that is. If your target is too far would you end up landing short? Or would you simply not execute the skill?,

People complaining about fairness need to realize this has always been the case. Competitive players run hardware for other games that has lower input lag, higher refresh rate, etc. This is nothing new.

Your logic is flawed… That isn’t hardware affecting how the skill works but rather the state of the game. If the developers want to make the skill work based on zoom level then that is fine, but not based on the size of your monitor/etc…

bigger zoom means bigger visibility …
bigger monitor, bigger resolution, bigger visibility … it was always that …

its the same … probably one of the reason why the teleport works like that is because of the WB and its zoom level so you can actually move and not jump under his smash skill …

your logic is flawed, mine is perfect …

That´s how teleport should work, in Diablo 2 you also could teleport everywhere on your screen.

This downright needs fixed. Skills need limits.
