Howdy. I’ve changed several settings of the game, but everytime the game crashes (Fenris report error) or i exit the game, my pc freezes for several minutes. I noticed already that D4 memory consumption goes over 10GB.
I’d like to know if there is anything from my side i can do to end the pc freeze or if is it something we need to wait a performance patch for.

My PC will freeze upon exiting D4 sometimes as well. D4 will either completely freeze my PC or at least stop responding and has to be force closed. I have a high end PC so it’s not a hardware issue.

Same issue here and Blizzard is not acknowledging it.
Tweeted several things at Adam before, everything but the PC freeze on exit issue always got a reply.
Just tell us at least that you are aware and working on it
It’s hella frustrating, makes my OBS disconnect and actively lose viewership

Didn’t start out happening to me for the first week or so but the last 2-3 days everytime I close the game the game goes unresponsive. I have to either shut down my PC or open Task Manager and shut it down that way.

Fix your game blizzard…this happens every time I try to close my game; this has happened since early betas and you refuse to fix it…

Just commenting to add that this exact issue is happening with me. 3060ti i5 12400

This game has major VRAM utilisation issues. most people seem to get fixes by reducing the stress on their VRAM via reducing textures, reducing the resolution or ramping your GPU fans up manually to cool the VRAM. with the large variations in hardware there is no right answer to fix everyone’s PC, but I hope that advice can help temporarily fix some issues until blizzard actually acknowledges there’s a problem and fixes it (been so quiet from them so far)

I am having the exact same problem. It came out of nowhere a few days ago. The last few times I closed my game I had to forcefully reboot my PC.
I have a Ryzen7 5800XD3, 32GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX3080.

Yep same issue. 5800X3D, 32g ram, 4070ti.

Exact same issue, freezes for minutes until it actually shuts down. Not responding in task manager, GPU usage spiking to 90% or higher.
Aorus RTX 2070 Super, Ryzen 7 3700X and I’m not even running this in ultra cause I see no difference. At 1080p 60 Hz xD

Same here, pc is sometimes crashing, when i click on my second screen. When i close the game client my whole pc gets frozen from time to time. The only help is to hardreset my pc. My hardware specs are fare beyond what is needed.

Same.
Was running fine, aside from the occasional stutter due to lack of vram, but it has been really bad for a few days now. A lot of freezing, sometimes of the whole PC, and sometimes crashing.
Other games like Cyberpunk still run fine at high and even ultra settings.

Exact same thing is happening with me. After exiting Diablo IV, my screen/monitor would basically go black screen for a random amount of time and random amount of flashes of it. I can still move my mouse and press keyboard and hear the sound but my screen is black for like a few seconds or maybe even a minute…

Aside from the usual stutter fest that a town can be (especially when using evade to get around quicker), today upon teleporting back to town from a NM dungeon my PC stalled out for a few seconds (noticeable because a stream on my 2nd monitor also paused when this happened). Turning down textures to Medium now since I read that that might help and judging from MSI Afterburner, it does keep VRAM usage at around 7000 rather than the full max out that comes with High, but this shouldn’t be happening regardless, the game needs to dump old textures far more frequently.
I have a 3070Ti and play on 1080p, with a Ryzen 7 5800X and 32GB of RAM.

Windows 11 education/enterprise
Playing on high.
Yes yes I updated the driver’s etc etc etc.
Complete system lockup twice now. Had to hold down the power button on on the case to hard reboot.

Same issue here, whole PC freezes 1-2 times a day, when I’m just casually playing the game, so frustrating.

This is getting to the point where i hesitate to start the game cause it frustrates me so much. When I first got it, it was just when I closed the game, freezed up and i had to hard reset PC. Now it happens every now and then while I play as well.
I have a hard time even imagining what they have done to make the game lock up the PC like that on exit…
TR2950x, 3060ti, 64gb ram and lowest settings. Hwmon reporting low loads and temps, not much VRAM usage, about 10gb ram used by the game.
I’m kinda scared as to what kind of damage the constant hard restarts might do to my computer…

I am having the same issue. My PC froze for a long time until ctrl+alt+del worked and I could, via my keyboard, shut down the PC. Got a high end PC as a lot of other users on this thread…
I also noticed that the game has A LOT of frame drops and lagg after you load anything in the game. It seems like the game is running even worse than at launch
EDIT: Not that it ran bad at launch - Best launch a triple A game has had ever
