Diablo 4 feels like it could be a mobile game

Keep in mind i’ve played today and last weekend and nothing more. I’ve got 2 level 25’s and now a 15 necromancer. I was literally falling asleep playing the necromancer today as it feels extremely cookie cutter. It feels almost exactly like the diablo 3 necromancer which in my opinion is not a good thing. I logged off 2 hours into playing and not even sure I’ll bother logging in the rest of the weekend. The unique item system is pretty boring so far too, wouldn’t even call them uniques because they arent actually unique . Just feels like the game was created for Console/Mobile first and pc second. I came into this game with a complete open mind and it just feels like diablo 3 with dark graphics that can be played on a cell phone. This is just my opinion and I do hope whoever buys it enjoys it but I figured I would give my thoughts on it and see what others are thinking. D2R has better graphics than this game does, and runs a hell of a lot smoother ( Ive been corrected on the unique comment , apparently these are legendaries im talking about that are boring ).

I don’t completely disagree, however it might be worth spending a few seconds to bump the brightness slider up, and checking your detail settings just to see if there’s any improvement.

Yeah, it has a really strong Diablo Immortal vibe.

I’m sorry, the quality of D4 graphically compared to D2R is night and day, D2R cannot touch this game.

I disagree that the uniques don’t feel unique, you can literally build an entire playstyle around a single item, that seems pretty unique to me.

Maybe because they aren’t uniques and there’s an entire tier of items we don’t have access to called uniques? How anyone following this game and participating in beta still can’t grasp this blows my mind.

Legendaries and uniques are different things.

Those “unique” items that create a bubble when you aren’t " healthy " are sure unique.

That’s not a unique item, that’s a legendary affix. Learn the difference.

Alright you are correct there, but are you having fun playing the game? Does it feel engaging and fun? Im not trying to be sarcastic here or anything . Have you played the closed beta and been further than 25?

I put about 50 hours in last weekend, the most i’ve played a game in about 15 years, so yes, id say I was very engaged, and hell yeah I was playing with my buddies until about 5am, this was the most fun we’ve had in years.

You can’t play further than level 25 currently.

Diablo 4 is weird to me. I feel like I do not have a real clear direction like Diablo 1-3. I understand the open world concept I guess, but everything is just weird. I am not sure what it is. I feel lost when I start playing. I do not feel very powerful and I am assuming that is intended. I dislike the lack of really destructible objects laying around. Diablo 3 did a good job at that and I feel like even though the environments look better, they feel hollow to me. I don’t know if anyone else gets that feeling or not. I would tell you more, but I keep getting disconnected in the middle of fighting and have to wait another 30-45mins to get back in.

Yea I understand that but the closed beta prior to last weekend allowed you to, wasnt sure if you had access to that or not. Well thats good your having fun, I don’t know maybe im just getting to old for these games haha. Just doesn’t keep me interested like some other games do .

I took a rogue as far as possible pretty much gear wise without farming the lvl 35 boss, and completed all dungeons, world boss, strongholds etc. Took a barb to 25 will take a sorc and necro to 25 this weekend. Having a blast and will continue to do so. Game is solid as hell aside from repetitive dungeon layouts. The cherry-picked negative comments I’m seeing everywhere on here and Reddit give me a chuckle.

It won’t be for everyone. I personally loved D2 and thought D3 was kind of a step backwards for the franchise. D4 finally makes me feel like i’m going home again and playing D2, but with all of the QoL improvements from D3. I think the build variety is immense as well, I ran with like 3 or 4 different builds last week and they all felt unique and changed the way the characters played.

My favourite was the unlimited fury whirlwind barbarian spam though, proccing berserker on unlimited cooldown giving me insane movement speed and damage and cleaving through everything whilst restoring Fury the whole time :joy:

They arent unuques… so theres that. Unuques dont drop til world t3 and even then you only get access to all of them in wt4. These are legendaries AND the drop rate is increased during the beta. They said so themselves in a tweet. To me it feels like lost ark with a diablo theme pasted over it. I loved lost ark until the p2w at the end game though. So for me its a win.

I played this beta for 2 hours using 1 hand the entire time only using my second hand to hit ESCAPE to skip the plethora of cutscenes.

This game is more or less a single player game which feels like a cheap mobile game.

The forced online is clearly here to prevent piracy.

Yeah that’s exactly how I feel about the game too. It is VERY Lost Ark, and I played that for about 6 months pretty consistently.

The build variety is immense in a game where you can’t directly affect your stat points… makes perfect sense.

This game feels nothing like D2 it feels like D3… even the inventory is basic.

When people like you state moronic things like “I think the build variety is immense as well” and then give absolutely no examples… its just like… okay… whatever.

It’s very MMO like game. In fact it is MMO. Like SWTOR.

I gave a perfect example of the barb build I ran, but there’s also 2 other barb builds which are trending if you care to use your brain for a second.

Upheaval + Shouts, CoTA.
Thorns/Reflect

So, ive run 6 different melee rogue builds 5 different barb builds 5 different ranged rogue of which 2 are frost type. I didnt play wizard but i know they have multiple elements so im sure there are. If i could find 11 builds in 3 days im pretty sure there are a ton of builds.

Hell… this doesnt even include legendary items… that makes a ton more options…
