Diablo 4 doesn't work

To whom it may concern. It appears that I can no longer play Diablo 4.

I have no party finder available. When I hit Shift P nothing happens.

In both key binding settings there is no reference to party finder or the shift p command.

The new chaos setting button, where I set powers in previous seasons, for season 10 has vanished from the character menu. I have only equipment, socketables, consumables and dungeon keys available.

The new chaos powers do show up when I find a new one but once I apply something the feature closes and I do not have the ability to go back and change them.

It appears that I have only the option of solo play and no manual abilty to set the new chaos powers.

All of the mentioned features functioned proper the day before in season 9 and have now vanished.

for those from Blizzard/Battlenet or whoever is responsible for maintaining D4 please contact me as to whether it is terminally broken or if this will be repaired.

If it is broken please just tell us. I have rebooted, reinstalled both battlenet and the game. I have rebooted, reset network routers and modems.

I repeat that everything worked fine at the end of season 9 but features have vanished with the onset of season 10. I did go back to my season 9 character to check and the party finder no longer works there.

I am otherwise progressing well but without party play and the ability to control chaos powers it seems my characters are permanently handcuffed and have no chance of success.

For whatever itā€™s worth to anyone who cares at Blizzard or Battle net. Thank you.

Almost forgot, I have reset al defaults an network settings etc. with no change to the failures and have run out of ideas. I have also tried alternate keyboards and all display the same failures.

mind sharing a screenshot of your keybind settings? Its the last option under ā€œmenusā€ in the control section.

on a side note - noone from blizzard will contact you over here. For that, you will need to submit a support ticket.

Youā€™ll find the new seasonal powers up top, next to your mercenaries. They moved it from the equipment/socketables/ place to up top next to mercenaries and abilities.

I tried attaching scren shots but the they didnā€™t copy into the message. Iā€™m willing to learn to atach. them and in fact have one I will try again right now. I triedā€¦it didnā€™t attach. Will try anything yo suggest and can put up all the screen shots anyone cares to see.

you need to upload your screenshot to any image sharing site. For example

To post the link to the screenshot then, you need to mark the link and click on the </> symbol above your textbox.

That way itll look like
example link of blah blah

Dont know if this will solve your issues just a couple of suggestions:

See if your blizzard launcher needs to be updated. check that first.
See if your computer has any updates. install those.
See if your video card driver has an update.
See if you are on the most recent version of D4 (check for updates next to launch button).
Restart your machine.

on a side note, i was confused at first too that the chaos perks are at the top lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

All done several times yesterday and most recently with in the past couple of hours.

I have examines all the key bindings and wanted to change that oneā€¦I think I read someplace that ā€œOā€ was supposed to bring up party finder but it only bring up the friends list.o

As far as the perk thing goes, isnā€™t the D4 seasonal instruction manual the greatest help every new season. Iā€™ve read they renamed it ā€œpatch notesā€ā€¦:slight_smile: j/kā€¦

I am also experiencing this issue with no visible or accessible Party Finder, on PC. Exactly as Gary has described.

I have also thoroughly rebooted/reinstalled, and tested alternate characters.

Am disappointed but hopeful someone can help here! :slight_smile:

Why do you need that in D4? Solo play is the way.

This me on PC. I been playing D4 sense release and worked at season 9.

Yes. I have been mocked for it not being on mine repeatedly. Seems itā€™s easier call someone a liar and mock them for some folks.

Thanks for not being one of them. And I will recheck right now just to be sure.

Clan is my last clan screen with social screen above it, I have no party reference at all in the Menu column. Collections, reliquaries, Season, Shop, Journal, Map, Seasonal, Mercenaries, Abilities , Skill tree, Skill assignment, Class panel, and Characters complete my menus list in ascending order.

Howdy Gary :-),

Apologies if you have already answered this, but I did not see a responseā€¦ Do you have the ā€˜Socialā€™ menu in-between ā€˜Collectionsā€™ and ā€˜Clanā€™ when you hit the ESC button? Also, under the ā€œConnectionsā€ on ā€˜Options,ā€™ do you have everything set to default?

Another troubleshooting step you could try, is to first make sure that both Diablo IV and Battle.net are NOT running (make sure to right-click the Battle.net App and close it from the system tray), and then navigate on your ā€˜My Documentsā€™ folder and find the ā€˜Diablo IVā€™ folder. In there, rename the file LocalPrefs.txt to something else. Then restart Battle.net and then launch Diablo IV again, and see if things go back to normal. Good luck!

Have you tried clicking on an event (boss, dungeon, legion, etc) to see if it has party finder options available there?

Yes there is and it is set to ā€œoā€ Also tried running game without Battle.net app. LocalPrefs.txt renamed and it still not showing.

I had the same problem, and saw another post.

They said to go to your account settings, go to privacy and communication, and under social settings check if this is enabled:
ā€œBattle.net Groups
Allow this account to create and accept invitations to join Battle.net Groups, which includes chatting with other members of the group. Group Chat is only accessible if the Text Chat setting is set to onā€

Mine was disabled. I enabled it, relaunched the game, and party finder was back.
