Diablo 4 Crashes to much

I have had persistent crashes ever since 2.1.2, its getting so frustrating that I getting less and less motivated to play.
Crashing shortly before completing a high pit, crashed twice on the mythic undercity tributes, crashed on countless 10 wave pits… I am almost scared to do anything of value due to crashing.

I thought the patch might help, but after a single undercity run and about to complete a pit I crash again.

I have reported this in the tech forums, not sure if that was the right place? Either way I cannot be the only one almost not wanting to play due to crashing?

My system has 32gigs of ram and a 4060 RTX, I should add I had no issues before 2.1.2 this season, and only in season 6 was it this bad after launch.

In before the trolls tell you it’s your system not d4 lol

It is your ISP.

@Ralph I made a change for Marvel Rivals as it was crashing a lot for me at launch. But since then I have come back to D4 to experience zero crashes this season.

Give it a shot, it is a post referencing another post I made, but it helps to keep the context understandable.

I used to crash quite frequently before so there were other tweaks I made in my post history from last season. You can always set it back to the default if it doesn’t help.

Did you restart your computer? Have you reset your router? Can you send us a ping? Southpark cable episode comes to mind.

Here creashes every 15 minutes. My PC have 64gb ram, 4070 super :frowning:

D4 takes way too many resources. Whenever i play it, its the only game that puts my fans into overdrive. I can literally hear over my headphones. To anyone telling you its your system, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. D4 has had these issues since before launch.

I have not had any crashes. My no nothing rig runs D4 just fine.

I highly doubt that.

Sadly each patch does about 3 things.

  1. Fixes problems for a select group of people.
  2. Causes problems for another group of people.
  3. Doesn’t change anything, either for the people who were having problems, or those who never had a problem.

Absolutely correct. I had 0 crashes prior to VoH, when that dropped, i lost connections, teleporting made me crash (still does). So its definitely not my setup or 90% of PC users.

Devs posted somewhere that they confirmed there’s a need to update drivers in relation to these issues - graphic drivers from memory.

I assume they traced some of the crash issues to new graphic features the VoH release started using which uncovered driver bugs. This does make it a bit difficult sometimes for users when there’s problems like this.

I don’t have a link handy but someone else may.

I think it’s a good place to start based on the description of your experience.

Haven’t you seen the numerous patches since October 2024? All these patches have “various stability improvements” in their notes! And if Blizzard writes this in the patchnotes every single time, then with every patch the stability problem is solved again! Do you understand this?

Do you really question Blizzard’s competence? Blizzard is a billion dollar company and if your game crashes, then it’s not the fault of Blizzard, but your fault. Therefore Blizzard advises everyone who experiences continued game crashes to reinstall the operating system. Your PC is the problem! And if million of players have the same problem, like in this case, it’s never the fault of Blizzard, but the fault of players who use bad PCs and who do not reinstall their operating system.

I got advised by Blizzard to reinstall my operating system. I did and it did not fix the constant crashes. So it’s my fault, because I am too dumb, and not Blizzard’s fault. Understood?

thought I would pop on d4 this morning for an hour as I had some free time.

30mins in and I have crashed 4 times… I honestly feel like quitting the game, just because its not fun constantly crashing like this.

Same problem here, just quitting the game right now.

Why is my system rock solid? Why is Blizzard’s software not crashing my computer?

I run an IT department but for years I was a field tech and I have dealt with hundreds of computers that were crashing. From my experience people whose computers are crashing, when most people’s computers are stable. can be corrected by updating (or rolling back) drivers, replacing hardware that is not performing to specifications that are being stressed out by a demanding game, or have O/S problems with conflicting software or corrupted files.

Part of being a PC gamer is learning how to fix your own computer.

Part of being a Console Gamer is just turn on the machine and enjoy the game

Same here, logged in and crashed to desktop SEVEN times in under 30 minutes. I have tried all the “fixes” but this season has made it unbearable to play anymore. Starting to look for a new game to play.

Well it should have been fixed sooner if they traced it to graphic drivers. Blizz is now a Microsoft company so getting approval for bug fixes on windows systems should have been easy. This is pure laziness on the Blizz management.
