I’m enjoying the game so far, even though the grind is crazy compared to other Diablo games.
The odd thing I find, is there seems to be no player chat or communication whatsoever, sure there are clans, but its weird no one talks, no looking for groups etc.
I thought this was one thing D4 was meant to be going more MMO style.

Yeah, I was surprised at the lack of grouping. I haven’t played with anyone. Maybe they should have made it single player.
D4 is seriously lacking in community chat channels. Only way to chat globally is in Trade and even then you have to activate it in options which means no one uses it.
I have a feeling that the people who designed this game have ever played any Diablo versions, there’s no sense of community.
Not disagreeing but one hurdle for the developers is spam. I logged in last night and was immediately greeted with a message advertising a paid power levelling service in Trade chat.
D2 and D3 had better tools for grouping and community than this.
There is no Global/General Chat, is why.
The Closest thing we have is Trade Chat, and it is turned off by default. You have to manually opt in to it, in your Game Settings.
I’d bet the majority of players don’t even know that there is a Trade Chat.
I don’t think a global chat will make as much of a difference as some people think it will. Some people are just determined to not talk, and no matter how much Blizzard tries to facilitate social interactions it’s ultimately up to the people as to whether they want to connect or not.
I don’t see any harm from putting in a global chat at all but it’s likely not going to cause some abrupt change either.
You need to go out of your way to make the social interactions, they do not just “organically” happen
Try inviting people at a legion or helltides and see how many people accept. From there just a simple hey want to do dungeons for group exp later type message will net you a new battle net friend.
I guess that can become an issue with the cross play and total lack of text chat convenience for consoles
i miss using the chat to get a quick answer to a question or guidance during game. w D4, i find a need a lot of Qs answered an no easy way get the answers
Made for console, and most console players don’t have keyboards.
The second design of course, is to eliminate RMT/Gold Sellers.
It’s more realistic to end global hunger and create world peace.
Dosen’t matter, d4 does not support keyboards on consoles. Don’t blame us for this mess.
