Diablo 4 campfire chat at Blizzcon

Well no substance in a presentation is a bad presentation.

If I was doing a powerpoint and you came out with nothing useful or more informed, I think that would suffice to say we both wasted 1 hour of our time.

If the goal was to entertain us, well…did you feel entertained? LOL.

People can criticize something and still like it.

no u

What are you like 15? No you? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Thanks for the laugh

You can literally count them yourself if you’d like. Although keep in mind I stopped counting ‘employees directly involved’ once I got past additional development. So if you want to factor in say, external development that will increase the numbers.

As for WoW, well… if you want me to do what I did with the D4 credits I guess I can.

Here’s the list of credits for Dragonflight from wowhead:

https://www.wowhead.com/news/dragonflight-credits-added-in-latest-beta-build-329214

Leadership: 72
Art: 111
Design: 136
Engineering: 129
Production: 32
Sound: 8
Additional Development: 126

Total: 614

So fairly close with D4 coming out on top by only 65 employees. Which in all honesty isn’t surprising, since D4 is a far more complex game, especially with respect to art design.

Mind you those are only the credits for Dragonflight. While Dragonflight was being developed Blizzard had additional teams working on War Within, and we’ve since learned that the way that the Worldsoul Saga will be made faster is that they are developing the expansions simutaneously instead of one at a time in sequence. So there’s a full development team working on War Within, Midnight and the Last Titan.

So the full development team for WoW could be double that number, possibly even triple, depending on how many employees are working on each expansion team (we don’t know).

I don’t really care honestly to research it myself, and I appreciate you making the effort. I am just riding off the work of you and the other poster with regards to workforce.

I agree with Raxx’s opinion after I watched it.

I am just trying to understand basic work force as you pointed out relative to what’s being produced.

I personally believe we have opportunity cost problem. Staff for D4 is working to fix and refine. Whereas Wow staff is developing content.

If Staff for D4 is working on content (which is maybe what they are mostly doing), then our fixes and refinement get less work and attention and take longer to implement.

Now if they have double the staff, then they may have invested correctly to develop both.

Anyhow, don’t kill the messenger so to speak, people may hate raxx, or hate streamers as a whole (lol), but the message - rings true to me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The irony

I feel like the campfire shouldn’t have happened because it did not provide anything.

with what we had in day 1 + the stream interviews it was already very good! No need to repeat the same things shown a day later :^) it just made people angry because the expected more in depth stuff and they didn’t get anything
