What are you talking about specifically? Please, tell me how your experience differed from the literally confirmed testimonials from the friends and family beta. Lol.
You donât respec. You save the item for another character that you build to that spec if it is a build you want to play. That is why trading needs to be open so you can trade that item for one that you would rather have.
Nothing about being proud or not, you have to protect your NDAâs or they mean nothing.
Trading just means lower drop rates, no thank you.
I already have told you my exact experience.
Also if this beta you are talking about was before the closed beta test. Well the closed beta changed so much from start to finish its crazy. I didnât even like the game first, then as they patched it from day to day it became great.
Not sure if for example density was fixed in higher tiers at same time as on low tiers cause my intital play time was low so I got there late. But if it the changes were as huge as on low tiers then end game must have started like total crap
Stats are boring but need to be useful. Otherwise there is no point in having them at all. It just complicates and confuses things for casual players.
Thatâs a UI thing though. Itâs 2023 I shouldnât have to go to a 3rd party site to see what my character would look like with x items vs y items. Itâd be easy enough to have a minimized tab with all the nitty gritty crap for the nerds who like to min/max. Meanwhile the casuals can say hey +15 strength. This legendary aspect is useful but I want to equip this big olâ hammer that has more DPS so ima use this item with +15 strength. Because I need 10 more strength to equip it. Itâs really really not that hard.
Theyâre mostly defensive.
And I donât think everything should be spelled out in game, handed to you on a silver platter.
Iâm talking about the most recent one and it was god awful. Nothing like what you described. Right click to delete on rails. Plays like a cellphone game, even in the endgame. Quit trying to trap people into playing towards a fictional magical endgame lol. Most consumers canât be sold on the proverbial âhidden pie fillingâ anymore anyhow, not a good marketing tactic.
Protecting your NDAs is one thing. If they thought the leak was going to drive any appeal though theyâd have consciously left at least one archive surviving. If it was halfway decent it would market itself. Corpos do it all the time, heck they often softleak themselves. The problem is everyone who saw the leaked content was laughing at how utterly bad it was. Itâs
damage control, 100%.
Eh, legal contracts work a bit different, if they didnât scrub it someone could argue none of the ndaâs are worth the paper theyâre written on.
Companies do leak things, but this was different.
I agree with the OP. Why should I have to wait to find an item to improve my companions!? Adding skill points to a specific skill should amplify it a lot more than where itâs at now. I hate the fact that I will have to find an item to improve the effectiveness of your wolves. You should be able to create a âZooâ build and then find items to improve that. That was the beauty of D2 despite that it may not work in the âend-gameâ. I donât play Diablo for âend-gameâ. I just loved creating different builds that may or may not work. I donât think we were able to respec your character in D2. I think it was added later. I still have my original D2 + LOD
There isnât anything that says trading has to be lower drop rates.
ok so when was this most recent one? before or after closed beta?
Well, youâre pretty rare in that.
It was around LoD iirc.
Precedence has been set, Diablo 2, PoE, basically any game with open trade has crap drop rates that force you into trading, why Iâm also against trading, I prefer to find everything myself or with friends.
Rares in this game are going to be the endgame items that you will want. The number of affixes and ranges on them are already going to make perfect or near perfect rolls extremely rare. No need to nerf drop rates.
No, they should kill trading and INCREASE drop rates because rares are important.
Aside from the forums I donât know a single person who actually likes trading.
Or do Like LE and separate the two
Power doesnât have to be gameplay changes. That system actually doesnât go well with the limited respecs and the argument that people are using all the time âwhat if I find an item and have to change my build?â Thatâs a bad scenario that shouldnât happen. Items should complement builds not create builds. They should never be more significant than your character progression. Otherwise you arenât playing a character, you are playing a bunch of items.
Weâll never agree at this point, I like items that make builds
I unironically think it was a softleak. It dropped and hung around inorganically for a bit. It also dropped with an identifier, a clear indicator of a âfalse flag.â And it got absolutely lambasted in thread after thread across multiple sites, drawing comparisons to D3 with muh gorillion damage number spam (and how generally uninspired it appeared). Then it got scrubbed, immediately, as well as numerous threads discussing it. Very inorganic and screamed softleak.
I suggest this:
- Delete Legendary affixes from legendary items.
- Put powerful major Legendary affixes to the Skill Tree.
- Turn minor Legendary affixes into Legendary Aspects that can be found in the world / from bosses. (crafter can assign it to the item without restriction but for the decent cost)
- Legendary items without Legendary affixes will still be meaningful because of other stats and unique look.
