Diablo 4 I noticed the quest NPCs they go on and on and on

Make a button in the options, SKIP everything, don’t even ask, just SKIP it.
Guild Wars 2, new expansion came out today, listening the storyline, it goes on and on and on. The NPCs talking.

we have ADHD, why are you making content where the quest NPC is going on and on and on.
Kinda miss the old games, sometimes there is nothing but you can follow you get the jist and thats all you need.
Diablo 2 is a good example, I don’t recall these NPCs going on and on and on and on.
Basically talk to someone they say 2-3 bubbles of chatter, very straight to the point of whats going on, then you go do stuff.
I don’t need 10 different NPCs hyping up the ancients fight in Act 5, just tell i got to do it and that’s that. What makes it great its a good fight, the story is in the action. I like games where the story is in the action, not me standing at some NPC going through 3 minutes of dialogue.
Seems to be a trend with these new games, must be something to waste time, time wasters. Time wasters are making a huge impact in 2023 games.
I’ve played a lot of games, stories are good but timewasters no thanks, I prefer KISS.
Keep It Short and Simple
NPCs having meaningful dialogue isn’t a new concept in RPGs. Skip it if you want, but they’re not going to outright remove it just to please you.

I enjoy the RPG in my Action, thank you very much.
Might actually get back to some GW2 after my current BG3 playthrough. I’ve had the itch for awhile now and hearing that it’s story heavy and without elder dragons sounds great!
Thank you!

Gw2 is mmo. It had open world that was fun (at least 2 years ago)
Whats crazy is GW1, is basically Diablo competitor.
GW1 has sets, uniques, pretty much everything Diablo, but it was #esports too I suppose. I don’t if Diablo ever went #esports.
Odd how they changed from ARPG to MMORPG
The story and cutscene are actually good. Puts lots of lore into perspective. Not to mention adds in new stuff players have speculated for years since D3.
Of all my 500 hours playtime I only spend 5 minutes with all the dialog and cutscenes. Only because I can’t press Esc fast enough.

The full inventory Act 4 Deckard Cain rap.
Good times.

woa, thanks for reminding me to check out the new gw2 expansion.
since they have like zero marketing, i completely forgot about it.
i love gw2, such a great mmo: one of the best imo.
I have the opposite problem.
I press esc too fast, the skip sequence it has to load the cinematics or whatever, then it loads the press esc to skip.
I’m already holding esc down, if you skip before your allowed it does nothing. have to depress and press esc button so it registers you want to skip.
What trips me up sometimes is I’ll be at the next spot where dialogue is at, but I forgot to talk to the NPC at the previous spot so I have to backtrack. Happens in Act 1 for me.
ex. clear the lift, the scene is taking too longso I just accidently go into the next part, ah forgot to start the “oh demons something something”, “yeah lets go, skip”
I noticed that demon was clogging the lift, I don’t need a whole speech about it.
Play games long enough you just know, don’t need some NPC telling you something you already know.
Good things about books they don’t show pictures provide so much details in pictures, you just know use imagination, you don’t need a whole dialogue to prep you. Sometimes less is more. I like that about older games, leaves room for deep thoughts.
