Diablo 3 Was Better At Launch

Yes, I said that. Yes, I am serious. No, you can’t change my mind. D4 has a LONG way to go before it even comes close to D3, much less D2.

Ok, whatever you say. You must not have been there at launch or:

  1. Enjoyed enrage timers
  2. Enjoyed Int on IK armor
  3. Enjoyed 99.9% of trash drops to force people into trade simulation
  4. Omg the bugs
  5. Range attacks hit you on windup so you could visually dodge projectiles but they would still hit you
  6. Wizzard god mode bug
  7. No pvp
  8. Only repeating the campaign
    Ect

I could go on. D3 was trash and launch and is still trash to this day for anyone who enjoyed the diablo series before that abomination released.

No…its not. Its was another big fail…

I honestly can’t remember the D3 launch. For me, D3 didn’t get really good until Reaper of Souls. But that is just me and you are allowed to have your opinion, so you do you, dude.

It wasn’t, y’all forget how bad the gear situation was with gear basically never dropping and everyone feeling pressured to go to the AH’s to get anything worth equipping.

D3’s launch was an entirely different kind of disaster with Blizzard making an entirely different set of avoidable, predictable mistakes they were warned about for years and made anyways. The only change in D4 is that they’re largely making an entirely different set of avoidable, predictable mistakes they were warned about for years and made anyways.

So apparently you’ve overlooked somehow all the trash items you have to scrap? Or how many people have connection issues playing this POS? Or how many games have crashed just like early D3?{Yeah maybe you haven’t had connection or crash issues that others have} That doesn’t invalidate those who have. Or how they removed the one bow class that works to put in place one that doesn’t? :man_facepalming:

D3 was literally trash until reaper of souls swooped in and hijacked the games direction (in a good way). A complete 180.

So we have to wait 4 or even maybe 6 years for this dumpster fire to get good? :man_facepalming:So not worth it…In fact Microsoft might just wind up throwing up their hands first :poop: canning it first as I don’t see anyone sticking around that long

Yes and no. Inferno was not playable. You kind of just died your way to each waypoint until you could exploit some kills by having npcs do the work. Which, by the way was pretty fun.

However, once you acquired exploited gear, you could start actually playing it.

Yeah, you know what, I guess it was pretty fun in its own way.

Everything you said is true. But from my point of view, none of that mattered: D3 at launch was fun to play. I stopped playing D4 2 weeks after launch because it was not fun.

Thus, from my Pov: D3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> D4 at launch. Simply put, Blizz dropped the ball on D4.

Well everyone has their own opinion on what fun is. I find D4 leeps and bounds better than D3 at any point.

Item Drop Rarity and Rate gated and throttled by AH/*RMAH
(*primary reason 15% cut but AH had 15% gold cut which then got circulated into rmah gold sales so…).

…design.
D4 Devs couldn’t ever in their wildest dreams do anything as vile as what went on with the $hand over fist$ nonsense that D3 AH/RMAH was and ByDesign.
Can anyone PROVE that “gold” or “Items” were/weren’t being directly injected/‘generated’(automated by supply~demand algorithm)?
I would put nothing past D3 2012. Nothing.

D3 launch was the best d3 ever got, it only went downhill from there.

its scary to think that theres a legit chance d4 is best right now, season 1-3 and will only go downhill from here.

i think i’m starting to understand why valve never releases a part 3 :joy:

Yeah. Wall banging to get reakor stacks was awesome :ok_hand:
D4 charge > D3 lol

Half of this wasn’t a big issue ant all and almost no one pvps in D3 lol!

people forget the 20 minute queues just to login to play D3

I think that’s better than finding 99% of your build in one day that d3 became. I enjoyed D3 the most I think when MP difficulty was introduced. Trying to get to MP10 SSF hardcore was quite a challenge. I had made it to MP5 before the expansion upended it all. Interesting thing is you didn’t need seasons for all of D3V and for some of the expansion.

This is the problem with nostalgia.

We tend to forget how bad a bad game was at launch, especially if it came out a long time ago and it got better in time with multiple improvements.

Not even Diablo 2 was great on launch.

It’s obvious that Blizzard is such a massive bureaucratic corporation, that even if they are actually listening to the feedback about Diablo 4, especially regarding itemization, it will take them more than a year to actually get around to implement it, and it will be too late for a lot of players.

Seasons massively improved D3.

My endgame in D3 prior to RoS was essentially farming Act 1-3 Hell to get items to sell for real money. There was one week, before the nerf, I just spent all my time resetting the hallway with all the vases outside Skeleton King to farm drops from breakables. I don’t really understand what people found fun about Vanilla D3, but to each their own, I guess.

And I hated Nephalem stacks effecting magic find/drops, especially since wasps off screen and elites launching fire balls could one-shot a player.
