Title says it all. Diablo 4 is dead. There’s like 500 000 people playing Diablo 3 right now and the progression feels so much nicer. People are helping eachother in game, and it’s generally just much more fun.
D4 needs its RoS saving moment. Its barely a C- game right now.
Do you have a source from Blizzard, or is it a made-up #?
Are you asking for a note from Rod?
Not sure if it will ever happen. The gameplay of Diablo 4 is extremely clunky compared to the smooth playstyle of Diablo 3. The game would need a complete redo.
As for the amount of players, just play the game during peak periods and join a General chat channel. You’ll probably be in a channel like General #34038 and each of those have 100 people. 500 000 is just a rough estimate, but if you have >300 000 people in General chat (and not all players are) you can safely assume there’s hundreds of thousands more.
Rod said millions play the D3 seasons, whenever someone uses #s I like to know the source. People make stuff up.
no kidding. i have to press bloodhowl anywhere from 3 to 6times before it actually decides to go off.
D3 has a great season. We have the alter and the gems of power. I’ve never seen 150 hit so fast by so many specs. In my region was hit within a few days.
I’m having fun with D3.
D4 feels like a job in some ways. Last season the blood event was what kept me going…that was fun and amazing XP but yeah.
D3 has more people because you can feel the fun way faster. I was max level within hours and within 3 days had my full set of gear that could at least do GR100.
D4, it will most likely take me a week or two to get to max level and then the thought of farming for the duriel treadmill…nah, I’m good.
Diablo 4 will find its place but it WILL take an expansion before we start to see where it’s going and not going. From there we can give feedback on what we want to see more of. This is essentially what happened with D3, people wanted Paragon and Endless Dungeons and thus Rifts and Greater Rifts were born and that progression system. It was very simple, but took time to refine even that idea.
D4 will either try to replicate that success of D3 with its own rifts and probably fail, or it’ll try some new ideas. Or it could become a niche game with some unique ideas and maybe they get polished but it doesn’t stand out enough.
Well I played the Diablo 4 season for about six to eight hours. And I played the last Diablo 3 season a week and a half. And I always considered the Diablo 3 season too short for what one gets out of it.
Diablo 4 has so many problems with it but the easiest thing they could do to drastically improve it would be to add an auto group maker. Just hit a button, you end up with four people, and you go do the NM dungeon or guantlet or whatever. You can go again or you can quit and try another group.
From what I understand of Diablo 4’s structure, your character is on a relatively small fragment of population and, obviously, we have no general chat.
I’m honestly not saying “you’re wrong” but more so that we can’t know based on any real evidence available - I’m not even really willing to use Twitch spikes either because of promotion
The clown show has entered and it starts with Haz and ends with ama as I never said D3 was better than 4.
After logging into s3 and lasting 20 minutes i’ve been tempted to give d3 a whirl.
i think d4 is better then d3. that game took so long to get decent. i think d4 started off well in comparison
I really don’t see much of a difference on D3 and D4 in terms of gameplay. Might be due to classes I’ve played but Sorc feels basically the same in both - Charged Bolt (D4) felt just as smooth as Hydra or Tals in D3. Bone Spear, while VERY DIFFERENT, each feel pretty smooth.
I don’t have anything to compare Druid to so ./meh
NGL - this is what I am worried about when I start later tonight on s3… not having that event which was just a great time waster when I didn’t feel like doing something more focused or mundane. It was just a nice “kill zone” with a decent payoff every once in awhile (the 3x50 shrines)
THis would honestly be my bet right now. I’ll still play D4 but LE will become my main ARPG
D3 is really nice to blast for a few days and with the recent season I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was doing better than D4. A lot of people enjoy D3’s playstyle more than D4 and let’s be fair D4 hasn’t exactly been the saving grace for the franchise the everyone hoped it would be. People are waiting for serious sweeping changes before giving it a solid chance again, not just temporary powers in the form of seasonal stuff.
if you like d3… you can still play it… or download Diablo immortal… and don’t let the negative bots get in your way… if you don’t pvp, the game is 100% free
so not sure what the issue is
I notice OP conveniently didn’t provide a source and ignored the post asking for one.
Put up or shut up.
According to who? The OP who pulled those numbers out of his keister?
And that is why D3 is an absolute joke. No game should be so brainless that you can max level it within a few hours. The XP buffs that came in S2 of D4 was more than enough. If a week or two to max level isn’t fast enough for you then stick to D3.
You can do it in a few hours if you use kills streaks. But D3 ruined the brand by making players think this is how fast leveling is supposed to be. You sound like you want to be done with the content as quickly as possible: please make it make sense. Just play something else if you want to play less Diablo.
