There seems to be a debate on the forums about whether this is a game that supports Eternal players as a valid play style or whether Eternal should be simply a dumping ground for old seasonal players and theorycrafting.
I have a busy job, and busy home life and Eternal is practically speaking what makes sense for me as an old man. I also like the sense of building something stable in a world so full of change, and the nostalgia from time playing D1 and D2.
Could I get a clear answer on what the expectations for support for Eternal realm players is to be going forward? If there will be support (ie not constant removal of progress) that would be my preference - it is frustrating to have my proverbial ‘house’ burned down every three months.
If this is a Season only game, great! I get that is the vogue, but I’d like to know so I can plan accordingly.
Thanks,
An old man

They said they wanted us to have something to chase, and that’s why they are toning items down to 540, when the max is 800.
I play on eternal after I am bored with seasons because I don’t want to chase anything anymore, I just want to be free to mess round with the tons of mats accumulated after a season ends.
you should watch a dev stream and ask your question there, or, wait for a campfire where our community manager collects questions on the forums. for sure you wont get a dev reply here.
that being said, eternal had big changes, and i agree that they are way too huge, for people that want to play eternal. there might be more, but i doubt they will be as heavy as the last 2 seasons, + the next season obviously.
The chase ends now.
I’m fed up with it. No matter how many more carrots on a stick you stick in front of me.

I’m actually a seasonal player and I find the Eternal Realm quite boring. But if the game has it, it shouldn’t hurt those players.
What do you think if there was a vendor in town who only traded old legacy items for new similar items? Would you be okay with that?
E.g if you give him a legacy Shako, he will give you a new Shako back…
I’ve Thought about this alot and it’s very much not a realm you can play it’s more for testing out toons. Until the game goes into maintenance mode like D3 did
It it’s always going to be primarily seasonal game .
D3 eternal realm only really allow you to keep forever rooms without much change around season 20 or so. Pre that they were constantly changing sets and having you refarm bits and pieces. No major reworks like we have now. But D4 is now in a wow model when there going to force regearing every xpac with lvl ups. If that wasn’t obvious AF
Yeah I have a busy job too and young children so what??
Play something else then…we can’t all get what we want
