Hello, I’m not sure where do you pick questions from, either here on forums or official discord, so I post it here- please consider pick one.
I would like to ask, if you are planning to fix the campaign aka The base game?
Since S4 ,where you changed whole D4 core system - this game mode is broken, I don’t know numbers ofc, not sure how many ppl play it, but I still do. It’s not fun amymore, doing side quest makes you reach lvl 60 in Act2 therefore it is not appeling anymore (for many and obvious reasons).
So are there any plans on fixing it anytime soon™ please ?
I have not watched all Campfires, maybe you already mentioned it:
So is the reverse of Diablo 4 gameplay towards Diablo 3 final? Any plans in future for vanilla mode or something like that?
Many of us bought this game with certain premises of development, but you turned into completly different direction I / We though it will go.
That’s it just these two questions. Make the Diablo 4 great again
Thx
Questions are taken at the time of the live stream typically from Twitch, and sometimes discord. They occasionally take a community question they’ve seen on the forums, twitter, Reddit, etc. but they’ll phrase it like ‘we see this question pop up a lot, here’s our answer’.
Highly doubtful on this one. They’ve stated before their goal is to get the player to 60 faster so you can get to all of the endgame content faster. To be fair this is what some people have been asking for, along with more endgame content to sink their teeth into.
In order for this to change to what you personally would want the game would have to do a complete 180 from where it’s at now. I know it’s not what you want to hear, but I wouldn’t expect the game to move in the direction you want based on what they’ve said previously. You never know though.
They haven’t mentioned anything along these lines, just what I stated above. They want to trivialize the leveling experience, so people spend more time in the Torment difficulties rather than the Normal to Penitent difficulties.
Hmmm I doubt that very much, I think questions are very carefully prepicked.
Regarding fixing the campaign, it could be done other way then 180 turn. Fix the side Q, lower the exp. from them. Lower the exp. gain form main q as well - they offen give you Very much! Test the campaign so doing full walktrough will result in char reach lvl60 at fe. end of base game ? But then again you would have to fix Nahantu as well
But hey, they can manage
I believe in em
EDIT: this way you could lvl up very fast in “adventure mode” as D3. But campaign would be again playable. Correct ? You can still go level to Helltides or season zones fast.
Go back to any live stream, watch the Twitch chat at the time of the Q&A, they pick questions from there. I should know, as I’ve been present during almost every single one, and have had a question answered directly from the Twitch chat. Adam butchered my name because he left out the ‘I’ at the beginning, but he did ask my question.
Now yes they do screen some questions before the streams, that’s a given. I can prove that too. However not all questions are pre-screened. They also only ask certain questions for obvious reasons.
This was a problem in Vanilla too mind you. There are a lot of side quests per zone, too many I think. So you could very easily hit level 50 back in vanilla before ever completing the campaign.
The easier solution would be to save them until after the campaign, as again, I doubt they would make changes to them now. Just keep in mind their goal is to get you to 60 faster, not slower. I’m not saying it couldn’t or shouldn’t be done mind you, just reiterating what they’ve said.
Ty. Will try twitch then.
““There are a lot of side quests per zone, too many I think. So you could very easily hit level 50 back in vanilla before ever completing the campaign.””
That wasnt a issue at all in vanilla, did several full walktroughs with every single Q i could and since itemziation was different you was never OP. Max level was 100, I’m not sure what level I was when I killed Lilith (maybe 53-58?) but all the strongholds were challenging, campaign bosses did put up a fight etc…
Problem now is once you hit 60 (A2) , itemLVL is fixed to 750. That is huge problem coz you wont need change any new item…thus you just either dont pick anything or you slavage everything. I have to intentionaly downgrade myself, not using tempering etc… so the game feels at least a bit engaging…
Than there is another problem after you finish original campaign, you receive many priority quests, you do PIT 20 immediately and switch to T1, then aim to Nahantu to start expansion campaign. But by then you paragon 60+(if you did all sides) and you blast through Nahantu as well
It’s magical circle of blasting through
I was thiking about skipping all the side q and go only for main quest line…but hey, I want whole questing campaign experience as it was
Correction: 50 was the max character level, 100 was adding in the paragon levels after that. The process was longer due to horrible itemization, less multipliers, and overall a lack of damage from all classes.
This is what I mean by you asking they do a complete 180 from where the game is now. You want challenge in the early levels because there is no challenge. They reserve that challenge for the endgame, this is what they’ve stated.
So now 60 is the max character level, with 300 being the max paragon level. Your example is actually worse in this case because you’ve already hit max character level before completing the campaign. It would be the equivalent of being level 60 with 30+ paragon points.
People asked for more endgame content, but also to be able to reach it faster at the same time, this is the trade off. Now the other game does things differently, focusing more on the campaign with a little bit of endgame, so far anyway.
Again I’m not disagreeing with your suggestion, I’m just giving the reasons why I feel they wouldn’t change it back to what it was, based on what they’ve said, and the actions they’ve taken since they started to move in the direction stated.
