This whole “leapfrogging development teams” approach isn’t cutting it.
The B team’s recent seasonal content in Diablo 4 has serious flaws. It’s infuriating to see bugs that were supposedly fixed resurfacing, like the world boss timers. You addressed this at launch, so why is it back in the expansion? And then there’s frame generation—disabled before due to crashes, fixed during the A team’s season, and now it’s off again… alongside new bugs. It’s as if the team handling the odd seasons is outshining the others. The game takes two steps forward but ends up taking one step back.
The seasonal themes from the B team are also underwhelming. They lack the flair and excitement that previous seasons brought, making the grind feel more tedious than rewarding. You lowered the level cap to ease the grind, yet you’ve slowed down paragon progression, made ancestral/mythic gear harder to obtain, and reduced masterworking materials. All you’ve done is shift the grind elsewhere.
Class balance remains a mess. Some classes dominate while others languish, ruining the overall experience. Multiple friends of mine have quit because they feel too far behind. Season 5 had decent balance, but season 6 has completely derailed that.
Honestly, I’m just not enjoying these B team seasons anymore. I’m sure all of the teams had a hand in the expansion, but the B team stench is all over it.
Let’s hope the A team can save us in season 7.
P.s. The most infuriating bug that I’ve experienced so far was the 50m gold undercity offering that’s supposed to give you guaranteed passives on amulets not functioning whatsoever. I fully attuned 4/4, and all I got upon completion was 1 non-ancient amulet that didn’t even have a passive on it… And the sad thing is, this was observed in the campfire chat where a non-ancient 50m gold amulet dropped that they conveniently didn’t hover over, but said “and this amulet will have a passive on it.” These should be ancient, or at the very least contain what you supposedly paid for.
