“We imagine Cooldown Reduction will remain a highly desirable stat, but the penalty for not prioritizing it won’t be as harsh.”
This is a joke, right? You realize you did the EXACT opposite here, right Blizzard? Instead of specing into CDR hard pre-patch, now (especially as a Sorc main with 4 pretty much mandatory defensive cooldowns) I have to spec into it even harder just to not even get back to where I was before.
I haven’t posted on these forums in years, not since the early D3 days after you screwed Wizards over by deleting the Critical Mass passive. Came back just to say… You really screwed the pooch yet again.

they don’t realize this, which I think is the biggest problem over a Blizzard. They don’t think things through to their ending. Other stats will only be chosen on gear over CDR if the other stats actually perform better, not just because CDR is nerfed into the ground.
People are going to chase cdr even harder now.

I theoretically could have dropped CDR on my neck or head slots prepatch for something else because I was sitting at around 40% but post patch that is never happening. Those pieces of gear will never be replaced now.

Right. I was actually considering doing the same, especially with the Chain Lightning build I threw together over the weekend. It’s complete garbage now even with CDR on every possible slot.
The actual solution to CDR would’ve been to reduce CDs across the board in addition to nerfing CDR. Tune it properly, you wind up where full investment in CDR leaves you at roughly where it did before the nerf, but you can afford to lose it on a piece or two without it ruining the feel of your class.

bro, this is a solution that actually makes sense. apparently something that’s missing with these set of devs
That’s too logical for this dev team.
That solution takes two changes though, and Blizz is to lazy for that.
