Rod referencing his colonoscopy and calling out “adam’s kink” re: vampires is going a little too far for a franchise GM. gotta rein that in, no one wants to hear about that.
also, DI and D4 in the same stream? please, no.

What is Adam’s Kink? I don’t get it.
Oh no!! They’re humans and they made a joke! gtfo
i didn’t come to the stream for the personalities, i came for game news. it’s a dev stream, not the campfire chat.
True, the white knights will never see through the veil of lies though. Not all sheep can be herded.
It’s Blizzard. You gotta expect bad taste.
guess i’m just disappointed that i could smell the bro-culture coming out of that production room. probably just gonna wait for a wudijo recap next time so that i can bypass the bs (and immortal at large)
I enjoy all the new kids on the forum. Very entertaining.
i appreciate the condescension :^) happy to be here
I do feel they have too much idle talk. But I believe that’s common for people who get nervous on camera. Towards the end of the QA they are a lot more professional.
Less chit-chat, talk to your audience instead to each other, minimal insider remarks and jokes. Use more visual aids like powerpoint slides and infographics, which also gives more structure to your stream.
This has probably been said countless times. But I really recommend whoever is responsible for these streams to take a look at one of the Final Fantasy Producer Letter Lives. Those are some really professional streams aimed at informing players.
I think the team might want to create a friendly atmosphere in these streams, but it’s really a situation of “we’re a closely-knit family at this company”: it just doesn’t work.
Aim to do a professional stream and you will gradually start to see more goodwill from your audience, which ultimately is the only way you can have more friendly atmosphere on stream without looking like you’re just enjoying it yourselves and the audiences are being left out on the side. Remember you need to talk to your audience, not to each other, with the exception of the presenter who needs to be asking questions and prompting the guests.
A joke that would largely be considered unprofessional in any high end work place. Especially one under scrutiny for sexual harassment.
Outside of the bad jokes, I get Rod tries to simplify things and summarize them, but I’m not sure it’s really necessary half the time he does it. Also, the blog format that’s apparently coming afterwards will presumably do that job anyway.
thank you for this detailed response! i feel very similarly. it’s hard to stay consistently engaged with so much idling.
What a silly thing to care about. You’re playing a game revolving around hunting and killing demonic minions from hell. You care enough about that same game to watch a livestream about its future.
The Diablo franchise has rampant violence, death, murder, blood, gore, demonic possession, and heavy ‘satanic’ themes. There’s just so many other things you would think somebody might take offense to. Yet you’ve chosen to make a thread to complain about how inappropriate it is to talk about a colonoscopy and make a joke about it.
Who cares dude. Please go yell at some children for talking to loudly in the library or something.
Yeah they should have had a glass of milk each.
it’s almost like all of the things you listed off have nothing to do with old-man-bhole. wild.
blood and gore is thematic, what’s going on in that man’s bowels is entirely irrelevant.
edit to add: i don’t watch devstreams to hear about old man bhole, i watch devstreams to hear about the future of the game.
Worst thing they could have done DI and D4 on same stream… ******* BS! 🤡
it was very strange to say the least.
I mean this is a company that is still tied up in law suits for this exact reason smh. I guess they still have not learned proper workplace etiquette.
They were just preparing people for what it will feel like to play S1
