Dev forums and patch feedback needed

Why have campfires? You put ideas out, heard the reaction, and it feels like you don’t listen to the feedback to adjust. I also believe the majority opinion of your newly posted Barbarian adjustments are bad. I think a lot of gamers around here would understand if someone comes out and says- hey, we heard you, our adjustments weren’t on point. We are shelving for alternative class changes that would take time. Anything- but instead we keep being led on this carrot on a stick ‘hope’ to get changes no one is asking for.

We need some major quality of life changes that are in ABUNDANT in this forum. O by the way, it’s your forum- not twitch, not Reddit, not twitter. Have your devs talk to your own channels. Getting the right feedback is probably your biggest issue to finding solutions.

Can I get some hearts to this post to show the Devs we want to see them in these forums!

We dont get what we want because the lead class designer is a scared of a little change. May be a little too far in calling him an idiot, but he is. He nor does his team know what they are doing when it comes to balance changes.

The most crucial elements the barb class needs is SINGLE TARGET DPS. They keep buffing the useless stuff that no one uses, and even after the buff is still useless. And now they even buff all the boss health which the barb suffer the most.

I’m not 100% caught up to date on the pre-game development, but I heard that they had to replace the barb dev once or maybe more? So for whatever reason- That would be a hard shoe to fill or at least explain some of the short comings. Now they’ve definitely earned the flak for not listening to the feedback up to this point- but I don’t know if calling someone an idiot would help the situation. Keeping it positive to the request is always the better solution for a problem. Shoot it’s only a game.

By no mean is calling someone an idiot gonna help the situation, you’re right. I’m more venting then anything. Why release the game then? Why put themselves in this grave to only try and dig themselves out. Why this? Why that? From a marketing/manager standpoint of a said massive project, I’d rather see the team push out a polished game cuz the game had potential, but as of this next patch, all that potential is gone.

I get it- it’s the passion. Cause we WANT to love this game right now. It’s just hard to.

Like a little biting puppy. So cute… So adorable… just stop biting my finger and I’d love you more. Blizzy- Stop biting my finger baby.

I think they need to hire a new Lead Class Designer. Most of the class balance problems is from the Class Lead DEsigner.

In all my years of gaming i have never thought devs were so incompetent as for me to think they needed to be replaced until now.

It’s clear that they do not play their own game or even play the class.

Absolutely no testing whatsoever has been done, yet no effort has been put in class balances.

We are playing somewhat a beta, and not only we paid for this, but we are also being laughed at for pointing out obvious mistakes, bugs, and imbalances. They couldn’t care less…

It really is hard to fix barbarians when none of the devs play tested the class past 20.
Why bother fixing the class when you just throw them the barber and hopefully no one plays barbarian to notice how rubbish the class is…oh wait…

I’m pretty sure Joe P mentioned his barbarian using a weapon master skill (don’t remember which) but he’s mentioned his time playing barb. I honestly think the balancing act due to the different damage buckets, skill and paragon glyph multipliers, plus 4 weapons- good luck to who picked up the sword on that task. However, people are reporting on the increase QOL issues- they need to start there…

D3 had a player test realm so major patches could be tried and feedback provided. You can get thousands of sweatlords trying to break your patch for free. Then just tune to the tolerable level of broken.

If I was as bad at my job as the barb devs are my reviews would land me in HR. The barb devs are either apathetic or don’t play the class and are guessing. They are balancing this class in a vacuum instead of its overall power levels to the powerhouses and it shows in the patch notes.

I personally don’t understand why the devs don’t use vulnerable as a tuning knob. Even making vulnerable for barbs and sorcs 40% or 30% or whatever base vs 20% base for the other three would help a ton.

The rumor in D3 was barb was intended as support, so it was fair if they could dps too. Idk if that’s permeated D4 but it just feels antithetical to the genre for ZDPS to exist. This isn’t an MMO.

I am looking forward to the changes since the very skills I use are the ones getting buffed! Cool cool. Perhaps now I can compete with the boring-gameplay-that-is-WW-and-HOTA by playing what I enjoy (Rend & Rapture)!

I find it to be unprofessional that the community manager does not communicate on the game’s own forums. Not that anyone else does dev wise either but I would expect as part of your job, at least the community manager. I mean I know posting a few tweets on x takes a ton of time.
The other issue of having some class designers who actually play the game is just wishful thinking at this point. Their entire approach is to nerf skill XYZ into the ground if it is popular due to “metrics” then revisit it a couple months later and call it improvements. It is sad because they had the bones of a really solid game and couldn’t stand posterity even if it were their own.

How are you getting buffed? And I’m a Rend fan boi myself  the small increase to how much gushing wounds is going to increase bleeds is laughable. The item stat change will be maybe A few percentage points.

Rupture doing pool aoe damage and not fixing the actual spell isn’t helping you my guy.
