Designers in charge of itemization should be ashamed of themselves

It is baffling that leadership looked at this current implementation of loot itemization and said “Yes, this is good, ship it.”

  • Item level requirement is just the level you were when it dropped, and has no tie to item level or world tier. As your level increases, it becomes harder to sell any loot you get since fewer people can use it, but for absolutely no reason since the exact same item could have dropped for you 10 levels prior. Why not just make it breakpoint based?
  • Mob level has no bearing on item level at endgame, making it pointless to push for higher nightmare dungeon tiers
  • Item level has nearly no bearing on stat rolls/ranges beyond breakpoints. A ring at 725 item power can have the same stats as a ring at ~800 item power.
  • Huge amounts of useless affixes
  • No ability to filter/automark items based off stats/ranges
  • Reroll cost scaling is incredibly high for how few options you get per roll. The whole playerbase should not be punished because blizz can’t restrict RMT.
  • Aspects are separated into tiers but have the exact same stats between tiers, accomplishing nothing but making autosort unusable.
  • Codex aspects are useless, why can’t we spend resources or salvage other aspects to empower imprints and improve the effect?
  • Uniques are mostly trash aside from a few specific outliers or ubers. With how few uniques are in the game they shouldn’t be this terrible.
  • No crafting
  • No set items
  • Gems.

The implementation of the endgame loot system is shortsighted and reeks of layered compromises, unmet project goals, and overall poor design decisions. The leadership responsible for it should be ashamed of what they shipped.

And to add to all that uselessness, no trading the absurd amount of useless crap you do find. In an mmo. A loot based mmo. SMH.

Agree with all of this.

Also if you find an item with an 800+ item power and all the rolls on it are the lowest. What’s up with that? Finding something that could be an upgrade with far lower stats when fully upgraded.
