So first off, I want to say that I love the season overall, infernal hordes are tons of fun, and I’m not trying to complain that the game has some difficulty or that there’s something that can kill me. To me, there are two main issues here:
First off, I have a pretty optimized character with a lot of defensive layers. I built this way on purpose, not much is really a threat to me. I can facetank tormented bosses. I run tier 100+ pits. Even in IH, nothing else touches me. Aether Lord? Like 10 hellborne at once? Burning butcher? The council with +100% damage? No problem. But desecrators will randomly 1 shot me. Through capped res, max armor, a barrier, tons of DR, and 50k life. The issue seems to be that if they hit you just at the right time, they can shotgun you with their sword swing and all three fireball projectiles. Now, if this were well telegraphed, it wouldn’t be as big an issue, but…
Point #2: hordes are chaotic. You’ve got red on red on red, hordes of monsters, projectiles flying everywhere, ground effects, etc. You often don’t even see desecrators, let alone their attack animations. Sometimes you will just miss them, and randomly falling over dead to something you can’t see is just incredibly frustrating.
Please consider doing something about this in tomorrow’s patch, it would make the season much more enjoyable to me!
Exactly! Plus, it’s not even Desecrators themselves, really, their other attacks aren’t really an issue, it’s just that one fireball attack. There’s no way it can be intentional for one monster with one particular attack to do that much burst damage.
It appears to be a bug. They kill you like no other enemy. Even though the 3 balls are the reason, it seems very automatic beyond 3x. The ice beast is the same thing, it kills in one hit. Between others.
Most of us said last season, that 1 shot mechanics need to be flat out removed, they’re annoying AF, There’s nothing challenging about them, it’s literally a cheap shot by the game itself and they need to remove that BS.
Here we are again, 1 shots, tempering/masterworking, the biggest let downs of this season.
I only play HC so it would be nice to see all 1 shot mechanisms fixed.
It would also be nice if the Torment boss debuffs weren’t such disadvantage for melee builds only. Can kill torment Andy/Durry with 0 stacks on a sorc or necro but it easily climbs to 5 stacks on a barb or druid. Missiles that originate from the boss are almost unavoidable.
Pits bosses also need to be toned down and the debuff removed. The rewards don’t justify the difficulty.
Do u guys understand that throughout the Horde, nearly all off your selections have 25 percent increase to Elite Damage? I mean put 2 and 2 together… Of course by the time u hit wave 4-5-6-7-8 those things are juiced up pretty good. Ever thought about that?
No I don’t die in pre wave or wave 1 or 2, actually I don’t really die from them at all, but clearly you all just completely neglect the fact they are juiced up hard as it goes on
My build is not crazy, but I have Bone Spear necro @100 running a Lidless (I have L21 BS). Sitting @34K health and hitting my caps, I have hardened bones + shielding storm up, adding soothing spices and another 20% health from Fortitude - the first Desecrator in a T7 IH can one-shot me lol. Between that and Mother’s Judgment in the Pits I am pulling the pin on this season.
What do you only play t1 hordes? I walk into hordes 7 and 8 and get one shot by the first desecrator standing there and I’m dressed to the nines. Shts broke
If you have 85% to all resists and ~60-70% damage reduction (Shako + Tyrael’s) they don’t one-shot you even if you only have 22k HP. Even if they’re level 200 on T8, my Sorc can survive.
I guess the devs expect everyone to have double mythic uniques perfectly master worked.
They usually don’t even break my barrier. Usually do T8 sometimes T7, they seem to do the same damage in both. Once every 10-15 runs I will get 1 shot through full barrier the other times I ignore them and nothing happens.
Very inconsistent, maybe they have a 3% chance to overpower
Same with the hellfire rain, sometimes it does nothing to the barrier, sometimes it does my whole health bar in less than a second (with andy’s the regen is greater than the drain though so I survive)
I honestly walk up to every desecrator in T8 and face tank it… Idk what all ur problems are
You guys understand that overhand swing, for all we know is a barbarian Deathblow, and it also shoots 3 fire balls out of it, so assuming ur at the tip of the impact zone, ur eating a large damage attack and 3 fireballs simultaneously. I put money on that statement. It can be mitigated… I promise you
Why is it getting a deathblow + 3 fireball attack simultaneously though? I wish I could do that, but we can’t with internal CD’s. Game mechanics don’t allow for it for the player.
It can be mitigated by running around and letting it waste it’s fireball attack, but who wants to do that? That also doesn’t stop it from cheap shotting you mid-horde from across the screen though which is, admittedly, more rare.
My feeling is this guy has the same bug as the Beast in Ice and it’s attack is ignoring player damage mitigation.
