Update: apparently there’s some grim favour scaling that I’ve yet to bump into. Closing this.
The shear number of grim favors we need to do for this season is straight up ridiculous.
For the rest it’s quite enjoyable, but really, just adjust this already
Well the whole theme is about the Tree of Whispers. 
It’s been 4 out of at least 90 days and people are crushing these values. There is no “too much” here.
also, you can purchase an item that increase your seasonal renown for rot at gendala.
It’s not Whispers - you are collecting Grim Favors. Some whispers give more than others…
You know you can play the rest of the game and just casually gain favor while doing other things there is no need to grind whispers and only whispers
For example, I’ve just done a lair boss and a hordes and each gave 50 grim favors when they were a whisper… not bad, especially for the few secs the boss took 
Yes. It’s getting old. But the Season lasts more than a month. I’ll keep playing and powering up when I’m bored of Whispers.
50? You mean 5 right?
If it’s 50 then yes that sounds ok. Not sure when this jump from 5 to 50 happens, but I’ll have some more patience then.

The “grim favor” required for the seasonal reputation board is not very consistent with the grim favours for whisper bounties. For example, completing a bounty that gives 3 grim favours gives more like 20 or even 30 for the seasonal reputation. So when it says you need “1000 grim favors,” that’s not 100x whisper turn ins at the tree/raven. I think it’s actually more like 10.
Oh ok, I haven’t seen this difference happen yet. If that’s true then indeed it’s probably fine

The only longer grind this season is the famous paragon lvl 300.
I play in ssf 
mode and already finished the season jorney. The raven sits on my shoulder (you cant even pet it with hello/greetings). I have all 3 new occult gems for my rogue, all the witch power at lvl 20 i need and all the witch powers out of the dungeons. Paragon Lvl 227 (yes i know most people are 290+ 
)
I enjoyed the short journey and the “old” new farming maps.
