Defiled Catacombs

I’m guessing this is high level content? I’ve been getting tortured in this place for level 12-21 now. If I am not meant to complete it at my level, then perhaps it would behoove the designers to give a hint. After grinding through three times, because the dungeon reset three times, I have to fight not only a creature that I cannot beat, but it is incredibly, stupidly annoying to fight.
Why make a new player grind that long only to give them such an annoying experience at the end?
If I am supposed to know better, than how?
At this point, my experience with the game is terrible.
Can someone let me know what I am supposed to do here?

What difficulty are you playing on , if you need help and are serious people will help you.

But you should not have any trouble on that level with any content on normal unless you have a issue with the basics of D4.

the dungeon is scaled to your level. Eventually you should lower the world difficulty setting. Or check if you gear needs some upgrade.

What Catacombs? I only heard about Catacombs in Elden Ring, dreadful dungeons with lot of traps :skull_and_crossbones: :ghost:

Defiled catacombs is one of the earliest dungeons that is supposed to teach the player about a mechanic in the game. RESISTS. Is it brutal for new players? It can be. Esp if that player doesnt actually pay attention to what is going on and just thinks they can YOLO tank&spank the boss with poison everywhere.

This is not a game balance issue. This is a player who just zooms and doesnt actually care about looking at their stats issue. aka: this is a you problem.

Maybe D4 is not for you, fam.

Too late. I already bought it. Maybe instead of being a snotty brat you can either offer assistance or shut up.

I am thinking none of the people here have actually done the dungeon in question with a starting character in a year, if ever.
There is a problem. If you don’t understand the problem, or have useful advice, how about choosing to not respond? Why do you feel the urge to be jerks?
I am playing hard with a quill spirit born. It is exactly as I am told the meta should be for the character at level 21.
What is it that you have trouble understanding?
That it takes over an hour to get through the dungeon itself?
That the dungeon reset three times, so I had to repeat it three times?
Or that the final boss is an annoying design that has caused several thousands of comments on the internet about how it is the suckiest boss in the game?
SO…any useful advice? Or just more snotty comments?
This is not directed towards the above who were not jerks.

are you actually following a build-guide? or are you just YOLOing it until you get the aspects and skills that you need?

on most guides there are specific routes to follow with your skills and or equipment.

and fam… even if you arent following a guide and are dying on hard with a quill SB… again, maybe D4 is not for you. cause damn.

Have you done it? With a new character, without any other bonuses or benefits? Brand new Diablo account? Because damn…
I love the advice above, get some poison resistance potions and gems. But of course, there aren’t any yet…

many did it in season zero - the game didnt become harder. im sorry that i refered to your post history, but you apparently had issues before. Can you go into detail on what is an issue with that dungeon?

i think people here, including me, could help you, but you seem to be missing something major hence why you are struggeling like this ^^

at early character levels, the confined nature of dungeons can be a double-edged sword. you can use the sectioned terrain to tackle a handful of enemies at a time, but it can also trap you with limited escape routes.

my advice is to try leveling up in the open world. at least there, you can flee on a horse or encounter other players who might pass by and lend a hand.
