Death Evasion Potion Hardcore

The DE pot feels like more of a latency buffer between the time the game registers 0 hp and the time it shows up on your screen. Not sure if a lot of people are aware, but here’s how it works.

** You pop a DE pot*

** You’re battling and health drops to 0 - the DE buff is removed (no skull appears at this time)*

** 2 seconds later you see a skull icon stating you can’t benefit from a DE pot*

You DO NOT gain any health that I’m aware of, you stay at 0% for 2 seconds followed by a skull icon stating (after the immunity wares off) you can’t benefit from a DE for 5 mins.

This is just enough time for you to cast a health potion in the event there’s some lag preventing you from casting a pot/viewing your hp bar and the time the game registers 0 hp.

many people showing up in town dead because their DE wore off which only grants unstoppable for 2 seconds. Not sure if this helps people, but that’s my aim!

I’d really like to see a paragon board node that has an ACTUAL cheat death as diablo 3 or path of exile has (we’ve clearly stolen multiple boss fights and mechanics from poe/d3 already).

A cheat death should make your screen blink red notifying you that you’re immune for an allotted time whilst granting you a % of your health back. If you DC with a DE pot currently activated you will in fact come back to a ripped character, even if you have SoE equipped on your wheel.

*** Here’s the take away guys**

DE DOES NOT GRANT YOU ANYTHING OTHER THAN A LATENCY BUFFER TO CAST A HEALTH POTION TO GET OFF OF THE 0% HP YOU’RE ABOUT TO DIE MODE.

hope this helps! GL HF SS!

This makes sense, as the potion itself doesn’t state it will heal you in anyway, just prevents you from death for 2 seconds upon reaching 0 health. Not something I would’ve personally thought of as I don’t play HC, but a good PSA none the less.

I do not play HC in D4 how many cheat deaths do they have? D3 had a number of them.

I think technically 2? The Death Evasion Potion and the Escape Scroll. Although some had the misconception that the Escape Scroll would auto-activate when close to death, teleporting you somewhere “safe”, obviously this wasn’t the case and it would only auto-activate upon disconnecting otherwise you have to manually use it.

D3 had one for every class through a passive, and I want to say there was maybe 1 or 2 items that also offered immunity to some extent? Or had a chance to negate fatal damage, something along those lines.

Keep seeing this Hardcore stuff, I’m intrigued but the wrong personality type.

So I’m going to set myself up for failure, as always, and try this out.

At least it won’t cost me money like LE did, yeah yeah I’m gonna try it again, just couldn’t hold the sarcasm back today.

But sure maybe stepping outside my comfort zone could be a good thing, I am indeed a little spoiled, maybe more than a little, so why not?

— nope, you’re gain 8hp; proof: https://youtu.be/6mqwgR1kcVs?t=584

this is noticeably better than 0hp, otherwise when using a scroll of escape without drinking a health potion, people would automatically die when loaded in town

— small clarification (relevant for S2, didn’t check in S3): you get immune to everything except stun effect; proofs:
