No one was forcing you to use them, ya know.

Very true, I just think it will be more interesting seeing who is actually a good HC player and doesn’t have to rely on a cheat death.

Will be far more exciting to play imo.

Of course, from a guy who doesn’t even have an HC toon on the seasonal server…

Huh? I have a lvl 100 druid.
And a 100 sorc last season
What are you talking about…

On the one hand i’m glad i won’t need to farm mats for these elixirs anymore

On the other hand, i’ll never touch Uber Lilith ever again after this

Yeah she definitely won’t be touched by alot of HC players now.

I’m not that glad about this. I understand some people want Hardcore to be truly hardcore but, sometimes, you just wanna try something, and now well, you can’t really.

Hardcore without ANY little help to stay alive feels a little too hardcore for me. That’s part of why I play Diablo and not Path of Exile.

I like the thrill of knowing that making a mistake puts me in immediate danger, but I don’t really enjoy the idea of not having any room for mistake or bad luck.

No ones forcing you to play HC either

Just like, once again, no one is forcing YOU to use death evasion…

scroll not remove so hit the panic button to gtfo if you feel not safe

I’m so tired of seeing this argument every time the elixir is mentioned. Of course nobody is forcing me to use it, but why would I burden myself with something while everyone around me is using it? Same rules for everyone.

I don’t mind the removal but 2 things I’d like to see happen…

  1. Let us console players bind scroll of escape to a single button press (like D pad)

  2. Put some kind of damage range check in activities so that there aren’t any crazy dmg outlier bugs like the DoT enchanted elites from season 2 or vizier constructs from this season. Getting randomly one shot out of the blue w/ damage that’s disproportional to everything else is just bad game design.

I dont use the elixer personally(except on uber lilith since the encounter is ****) , but why remove it… Just dont use it lolz… Why so much crying.

Anyway I dont care, It will just make alot of people quit which is a shame I guess.
The game is not really optimized for hc.

BTW I had 8 level 100 hc chars, did all high end content, uber lilith and aoz level 8

It still means that if I want to try a new build, or an encounter I’ve never tried, or to climb up any kind of content, I can’t.

For instance, I might feel ready to go against Grigoire, but then when I’m in the encounter, I don’t yet know how hard he’s gonna hit. So I might die.

The whole point here is that the elixir gives me an instant to react to unpredicted damage and press that scroll button if I wasn’t stunned or otherwise crowd controlled.

The scroll is indeed invaluable, but it’s not meant to replace the elixir, just to complement it.

The issues simply are the 1shot mechanics.

Removing the potion renders the scroll useless in many cases. Because you go from full HP to 0 HP instantly.

Which is pretty ok if you are playing bad. But the issue is that monsters with huge dmg spikes are added to areas where the monsters have a way lower average dmg.

You kill 1000s of monsters without an issue and then you encounter one monster that oneshoots you. Thats pretty bad gamedesign.

Player skill is way less important than pure luck.

Not arguing about changes to the potion at all. It was making HC way too safe.

But completely removing it was too much in my eyes. Should have its CD extended from 5 Minutes to maybee an hr or even 1 day.

At the moment HC Players will avoid certain parts of the game simply because its like RNG with permanent consequences.

And no - the scroll is no help in such situations. When you used the potion and it triggered, you could use the scroll.

Now you are simply dead.
