Update: Now, every time I login the game immediately crashes!!!??? WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH D4 NOW!?

Diablo IV Season 4 New Update Keeps Crashing!?

Dear Blizzard Team,

I never experienced any crashes with Diablo IV since the game came out last June, until this new update today! This is the first time, and the random crashes keep happening!

What’s up with that, Blizzard!? PLEASE Fix these damn bugs in the game! This is really messed up!

NOW IT’S (9) TIMES THE GAME HAS crashed, in less than 40 minutes, and now I can’t even fully login without the game constantly crashing!

Oh, and BattleNet keeps logging me out too! This NEVER happened before until today, so this is definitely a BLIZZARD BUG PROBLEM AFTER THIS NEW D4 UPDATE! BIG TIME! Also, I logged into my other Blizzard games and no problems whatsoever. This is clearly a problem with Diablo IV and the new update! Not surprised at all at this point!

I logged into D4 just a few days ago! No issues! However, today for the first time the game keeps crashing randomly, and now as soon as I login to D4, it crashes and a pop up shows up saying: “The application encountered an unexpected error.” This is now the ninth (9th) time! I can’t even fully login and play the damn game! D4 is still a buggy, broken beta game! Unreal!

FIX THIS AWFUL DISASTER! IT SEEMS THE GAME IS NOW WORSE THAN BEFORE, BECAUSE I WAS AT LEAST ABLE TO LOGIN AND PLAY BEFORE THIS NEW UPDATE! NOW I CAN’T! I DIDN’T PAY OVER $100 FOR THIS DAMN BUGGY BETA GAME TO KEEP CRASHING, BLIZZARD! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH D4 NOW!???

PLEASE FIX THE GAME BUGS ALREADY! THIS IS AWFUL!

I’m not wasting my time trying to login to Diablo IV until later tonight. This is ridiculous and should NOT be happening to players! Get it together, Blizzard Team!

Yeah same here, it improved since i update drivers but still one more disconecting, i am monitoring temperatures of cpu and gpu and is all ok, please fix.

i noticed it happens usually when enter a town

Same, Constant crashing when teleporting from map or using “T” and I can not seem to find any post from blizzard addressing this.

Crashes for me every time I try to use a Waypoint. It’s Extremely frustrating and makes me constantly almost wanting my money back after this nonsense. Especially since Season 3 didn’t do this, Neither did Seasons 2 or 1 or Pre 1…

I was in a helltide and now I can’t log back in because it keeps crashing. I dunno what is going on.

If you have ray traced shadows enabled, try disabling all the ray traced shadow pieces.

I did One hour ago, but Teleport to town and crash again…

Hi all!

I just disabled Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation in Graphic settings, and was able to login this time without the game crashing. So, as Blizzard recommended in their Stability Issues warning in BattleNet this seems to solve the issue for now.

Regardless, these issues should not be happening and Blizzard should have tested this update before it was released. I can’t understand why Blizzard does not take these simple steps to avoid these problems and bugs in the first place. And to be clear, this is NOT an Nvidia problem. My drivers are up to date and Frame Generation was working fine before this update. This is clearly a problem with the game and its latest update. Diablo IV has become infamous for its bugs and constant issues since the game launched last summer June 2023!

GET IT TOGETHER, BLIZZARD TEAM, AND FIX THESE BUGS AND TEST YOUR WORK BEFORE RELEASING THE GAME TO YOUR CUSTOMER / PLAYERS WHO PAID BETWEEN $69 AND OVER $100 FOR THIS BROKEN, BUGGY BETA GAME!

It’s beyond frustrating and disappointing to continue allowing these epic fails and bugs in the game since Diablo IV launched! D4 Players have been screwed over enough!!

I hope we don’t continue experiencing more bugs and problems with Diablo IV - Season 4, but at this point that is wishful thinking based on your history with D4, Blizzard Team! This is not acceptable anymore, especially for all of the D4 players who paid for this game, myself included! - JJ -

Same. The game is unplayable at this point. (Not to brag, but I did get a whole 10 mins before a crash earlier.) Multiple crashes. Super tired of all of the “turn this off” and “minimize that setting” and “send error codes” and everything else we’re supposed to toggle to TRY to get this game to work. I’m old and have played Diablo since 1 came out. Why can’t we just install and play without needing a degree in computer science?

me too, I really wonder what they have been doing all the time that makes this game even unplayable this is SEASON 4 and i cannot even ESC or any other actions, 'cause that would make the game NOT RESPONDING like the way 20years before when some single-games were played on old-style PC. Good for you D4

I am having the exact same messaging pop up before my game crashing. I don’t have the patience for an issue that shouldn’t be occurring especially when there are other games i could be playing. Eventually it is going to get permanently deleted.

Also having issues with crashes. It happens when I use the portal.

Have the same issue. I see that is very common and that Devs have been aware of that since last season apparently, but it still happens to many. Last season everything worked perfectly. Now I had to lower my graphics settings (everything was smooth before the update on ultra and 4k - rtx 4070 and i913900H, 64gb ram) to high and 2k to make the game playable at all, and still have random crashes every few minutes. Using town portal is almost a crash guarantee.

So far I have had luck with Ray Traced Particles off, Ray Traced Foliage on, Reflections set to max and Shadow quality set to 3 of 4, and with DLSS on as well as DLSS Frame gen on, it appears to be working. Running RTX 4070 TI Super and driver version 552.44.

I found a solution that allows me to play in 4K on high settings, as previously. Apparently there was one more option connected to the RTX GPUs that might be easily missed: in the graphic options look for Performance panel and then Resolution Scaling. I chose option NONE insted nVidia DLSSSR and have no problems now. Of course other RTX related setting are turned off. I missed that option because it separated from the other. I hope that solves it at least for some of you.

I played for about four hours yesterday with these settings and had one CTD and it was not after having teleported to a location, so I cannot really know if it was related to the previous CTDs I had experienced.

So many crashes, unbelievable :confused:

Out of memory crashes on 4090, i9-13k, 32GB RAM and then random crashes when teleporting etc.

Will have to try turning off DLSS + frame gen + Raytracing to see if it helps at all or not, but its annoying having to turn off half of the options just to be able to play for a few mins anyway on a 4k$ machine. Can’t blame console players opting out from PC world if companies can’t release stable games for the platform.
