DDoS Mitigation...another item in the long list that Blizz failed to learn from

In 2018 you got nailed by a DDoS…and here we are today…learned and prepared for NOTHING. Shoddy Blizz…real shoddy.

sounds like someone doesnt understand how DDOSing works. You can ALWAYS be ddos’d hell. you could ddos the pentagon if you wanted. you can never fully prevent them… also. this is affecting every game not just d4.

Oh I do…mitigations CAN be put into place…at a cost.

unless you plan to play 100% single player all the time, then theres no point anyway. a single player character wouldnt be allowed to play online. people would find ways to edit hacked items into it. thats why d2 had open and closed bnet. one saved characters on your comp and let u do wahtever with it. one saved them on bliz servers so they couldnt be edited.

I agree…full prevention from a nation state actor sure…but this is most likely some skiddy with a paid ddos shady company…someone at Blizz either a) didn’t think the cost was worth it, or b) didn’t think it would happen…poor either way.

I love it when ppl say ‘You can always DDos’. It’s cute.

A billion dollar company with massive network infrastructure teams across major game franchises sure as hell CAN put in anti-ddos protection. They absolutely exist…for decades.

So yea, give me a break on this outage.
