Blizzard show us all the good stuff and didnt give us full patch notes of nerfs at all. Why?
Because the majority of them probably had nothing to do with the public beta and were in the closed beta. One of the nerfs was a unique which we didn’t even have access to
Honestly I think blizzards mistake was releasing patch notes in general.
This community probably wouldn’t have noticed the nerfs other than necro if they didn’t say anything.
People love to complain.
Isn’t this what was posted before the slam?? now i must go see
If they hadn’t people would be squealing about secret nerfts.
I’m telling you blizzard could have said we nerfed Necro we need your feedback on it once the slam happened. And no one would have noticed the other nerfs and would have thought oh it’s because we are level 20
Why should they care about patch note details for a game that isnt even released yet. They arent obligated to cater to people who obsess about datamined info. The vast majority of people who will play this game dont even follow the game that much as it is.
You mean all of these nerfs they didn’t announce but we found out about, anyhow. Those nerfs?
I am 1000% with blizzard if they nerf everything
I want nothing OP in this game
The content should be challenging
And every classes should be at least balanced to fit Barb pace
They very much needed to nerf and or buff things.
I’ve played rogue three times now and ever time I used Twisting Blades.
The only class that had reasonable balance was Necro and no I don’t mean by comparison. I mean all the DoT, Blood and Bone specs were good. It was just totally overshadowed by a 7 way Corpse Explosion synergy.
Every other classes had very clear skill picks with no competition.
EDIT: I will say they seem a bit too focused on skills right now. My current setup uses a ton of passives. Why bother with Dark Shroud if I can just grab 12% DR or Dodge?
BTW this was all mined out before the slam.
12% DR, then -15% damage dealt if something is poisoned, maybe another thing I’ve already forgotten.
There’s ways to take some of the edge off for sure. Though if push comes to shove (and if stuff interacts the way I’d hope it does) then I wouldn’t mind layering it on for an additional level of “You no touch HP bar!”
How exactly can they nerf something when the game isn’t released yet?
They should work on encrypting the data so datamining isn’t possible. Datamining hurts the game overall imo.
To be fair, after the whole Overwatch 2 bs that happen today. The community low trust levels of this company is so poor, that no matter what Blizzard does it is going to look bad.
It is the small things that matter though, like thinking the nerf to skeletons was a good idea, when minions are not even what made necromancer strong.
This company i swear.
I have both of those passive setup in my full build.
I won’t be using Dark Should since skill slots are so valuable.
It’s a shame bosses are immune. There’s a lot of other stuff I’d do if they weren’t.
Datamining is actually good. It keeps Devs honest.
Yeah–Necro was not very fun compared to the prior weekend. If it stays how it was during the majority of the Server Slam, I might not play a Necro. (–Also, if that’s the case, I might not play D4 for very long, as I’ve played Necro pet-builds since the original DII; to not have a viable and/or fun pet Necro would take most of the fun out of the game for me.)
That’s not what the thread is about. It’s about not telling people that certain things were nerfed, until they begin playing the game and figure it out for themselves, potentially after they already put time into planning a build with specific elements in place.
This obviously doesn’t matter for a beta weekend, but it would suck if that happens when the game is released.
It may not have been all nerfs, though. Maybe it was just because my items were lower level, but it seemed like upgrading at the blacksmith didn’t cost as much gold as it did before. I could be wrong.
The nerf to gems was considerable.
I’m going to try and push through it anyways, while trying out caltrops and poison trap to see which (if either) can make bosses count as “effected by traps” for the dmg bonus.
If caltrops works, I can drop poison trap for something else (either mobility or defense.) if caltrops doesn’t work then I have to keep poison trap. Chill caltrops to go with Cold Imbue, and Poison Imbue to build poison damage with in the build alongside the trap.
Downside: Have to manually dodge everything without a straight up DR effect (shroud) or high movement ability (dash), but can still relocate some with Caltrops as a sort of awkward evade to clip through things with. Also relies on getting to test flurry and see if it applies cold imbue’s chill 4x per use, which should be 280% chill with two flurry usages at lvl 5 cold imbue.
May not work, but I figure I may as well give it a go. Ah, and the builder is Puncture, to benefit from that stuff that gives bonuses for swapping between marksman and cutthroat abilities constantly, and it gives Vuln to stuff I’m hugging basically.
Also yeah, datamining isn’t terrible. It helps folks ID stuff that’s not working in the code or find sketchy stuff sometimes.
Agree completely. One thing that always put me off Diablo games was seeing someone running around 200 miles an hour just like an auto turret killing everything in the blink of an eye. Like what’s the point you’re literally just moving your character around playing a running simulator.
I’d so much rather a gameplay style where you actually have to think about what you’re doing, and actually learn mechanics
i playd sorc and light has nerfed hard. hydra too. Changed to mid lvl cold spells nothing else. had pretty easy time on wt2 even ashava on pug cause i play lone wolf style
