Data Retrieval Error

“Diablo IV was unable to retrieve necessary data. Please check your network connection”

I’ve been having this problem since last week after a small patch, the only way to make it work was to install the high resolution pack, but after today’s patch the game won’t start with or without the high resolution pack. My connection is working normally.

I am having the same thing after patch today. I used to get this message in-game, installed the high def. graphics pack and it went away. Now it’s back!

I installed new Nvidia drivers, rebooted, etc. nothing works, dont even make it to the character screen.

I fixed it by uninstalling and deleting everything related to diablo and battlenet on my computer.

Is that means you have to restart all over again?

Just have to redownload the game.

Your progress is saved on the server so nothing is lost.
